This Gamescom week brings a classic 90s flashback. It also brings Night Trap, so no joy there.
Although we don't have a price for it, we do have word that 2013 adventure darling Gone Home will finally come to a Nintendo system this week. (Not so much, as it turns out...) It was going to come to the Wii U at some point, but, well, Wii U. The week of Gamescom also saw no less than three shadow drops, as Bad North, Morphies Law, and Prison Architect are all on the eShop as of press time.

Nintendo of Europe has presented a "Indie Highlights" presentation today, outlining new titles coming to the Switch.
First out of the gate is Night Call, by Raw Fury. In the adventure game, you play a Parisian cab driver who helps to solve crime in the city. The noir style game launches in early 2019.

Pokemon Go players can catch Celebi starting August 20, Niantic announced today.
To catch Celebi, players must complete a series of special quests similar to spring's Mew quests. Celebi's quest line unlocks after completing the third of the seven Mew quests.
In celebration, Johto Pokemon will appear more frequently and HeartGold and SoulSilver clothing will be added to the store. A free Celebi t-shirt is available to all players.

As if we don't have enough grinding to do this fall.
After a leak yesterday, Blizzard has officially thrown back the curtain on Diablo III: Eternal Edition.
The isometric loot RPG will release this fall, as revealed in yesterday's deleted Forbes post. The promised Legend of Zelda themed content will also be present.
With the release, it marks the first time a Blizzard game has appeared on a Nintendo platform since the Nintendo 64's port of the original Starcraft in 2000.

Walmart stores in North America will be adding a new offering to the Switch lineup in a couple of weeks.
The bundle will retail for US$359.99, and will include download codes for both Mario Tennis Aces and 1-2-Switch. Both Joycon choices - monochrone or red/blue - will have the offer included.

Playdius has revealed more detailed about one of their upcoming titles, including its release date.
Old School Musical is a rhythm title that tasks two 8-bit inspired characters with clearing classic video game challenges to the beat of chiptune music. Zaxxon, Outrun, and Mega Man are among the titles parodied.

We knew one was coming soon, but the other was out of nowhere.
Two notable titles have demos on the Switch eShop as of today.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate has a demo available for download now. Based on series tradition, the demo will feature three types of boss and multiple weapons to try as well as local and online multiplayer support.
The other unexpected demo is for Morphite. The space exploration title released last November on Switch from Crescent Moon Studios.

A deleted article from Forbes may show the Switch's third person looter game firing up.
If a removed Forbes article is true, the Switch may soon be getting part of a renewed Diablo push from Blizzard.

The great crossover of Fight, Heal, Wade, and Daniel
Atlus is keeping up their 3DS support into next year.
Etrian Odyssey Nexus has been announced for the West, with a North American release date of February 5. The original Japanese version came out a few weeks ago
Intended as a swan song for the dungeon crawl/mapping series designed originally for the DS, Etrian Nexus contains all of the classes of the other games along with dungeons representative of each of the games.

Dark Souls will miss the summer after all, but only slightly.
Bandai Namco have confirmed the remastered version of the classic RPG will launch on Switch on October 19. The Solaire Amiibo will also come out on the same day.

It lends the right gravitas to a game set at the outbreak of the Second World War.
Crunching Koalas have announced a new publishing deal for an adventure game coming to Switch, along with a major voice talent.
My Memory Of Us will release on the Switch this year, along with other platforms. An adventure game focused on keeping two children together in a place inspired by Warsaw, Poland ca 1939, the children navigate the city and attempt to stave off forced separation.

Lush environments and giant birds await.
Devolver Digital is continuing to roll out new games for the Switch.
Their newest title is Gris (pronounced as it reads), developed by Nomada Studio and due on Switch later this year. An atmospheric platform title, Gris stars the title character, who explores a world that is constantly changing its form around her.

I've only been pimping this week's biggest release for longer than I've been writing here.
Appropriate for what happens to me on Wednesday, the big release of the week is something I preloaded several weeks ago. Cosmic Star Heroine, the two-man RPG with a soundtrack in that rare air of Xenoblade, finally comes home on Switch after I've banged on about it for five years and even interviewed Robert Boyd on the telethon. Let the ripping and/or tearing continue!
During their gameplay reveal for Doom Eternal at this years QuakeCon, Bethesda confirmed that Doom Eternal will release on Switch. This comes after Bethesda was vague during their initial reveal at E3 2018. Initial reports seem to indicate that Doom Eternal will launch on Switch on the same day as other platforms. As with the two previous Bethesda published shooters on Switch, Panic Button will be handling the port.

The stylish shooter experts are adding some brawling for their 2019 game.
After their debut had strong sales, Graceful Explosion Machine developers Vertex Pop have unveiled their colorful follow-up.
Super Crush KO is the Ontario-based firm's new project, currently slated for a 2019 release. The unnamed main character can fire guns and use punches and kicks to dispatch obstacles in a near-future world.

The best non-Mania Sonic game is coming out a bit earlier than expected.
Freedom Planet was originally due for a fall release on Switch, but it'll come in more than a month ahead of schedule.
XSEED have confirmed that the high-speed intergalactic platformer will now release on Switch on August 30 instead of the previously announced October release.
The game can be preloaded now on the Switch ahead of the release.

A fun party game that probably shouldn’t be played on the bus despite its portability.
This morning, the makers of the hit VR party game Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Steel Crate Games, announced the release date for the console version. At noon today, pre-orders will be available on the eShop with an official release date of August 16.
To go along with the announcement, Steel Crate Games has released a trailer inspired by board game commercials from the ‘90s.

Should be soon given we're in the season's second half.
A new Switch runner is leisurely loping to a summer release.
Joggernauts, developed by local multiplayer specialists Space Mace Games and published by Graffiti Games, will come out on Switch before the end of the summer. The game focuses on an alien jogging team who have to switch leaders depending on the obstacles and colors presented.
