Hop on your Roll 'n Rocker and chug a Rolling Rock, the Nerd is coming back to the past - and Nintendo systems.
The Angry Video Game Nerd will return to Nintendo consoles.
At the 2015 SGC presented by Screw Attack, developer FreakZone Games announced that a second round of adventures of the Angry Video Game Nerd has entered development. The first game came out on Wii U and 3DS earlier this year, and the sequel is confirmed for "Nintendo consoles" as well as other platforms.

Touching words from the late President's funeral.
The funeral for the late Satoru Iwata was held Friday in Japan, with thousands attending the funeral for the late president of Nintendo.
At the funeral, Genyo Takeda delivered a eulogy (printed below) pledging to carry on Iwata's works and paying tribute to his friend's life. Nintendo released the translation of Takeda's remarks to Polygon.

The old-school RPG has a modern deal for you
Choice Provisions has picked up publishing rights for the 2013 throwback RPG Dragon Fantasy, and will release the game on Wii U and 3DS this week as Dragon Fantasy: The Volumes of Westeria.
Developed by Muteki, the throwback to 8-bit RPGs has appeared previously on Sony platforms, PC and mobile. As on other platforms, the game will feature crossbuy for Wii U and 3DS, with the North American launch price set at $9.99 US or $10.99 in Canada.

#TeamCoaster and #TeamWaterSlide will have some new toys to duel with late tonight.
Just in time for tonight's Splatfest, which starts at midnight ET / 9 p.m. Pacific, the squidkids will have a couple of new weapons to try out.
The Octobrush is a brush with denser bristles, causing more damage with a swing than the standard one. Its subweapon is the Squid Beakon, while the special will be the Kraken.

The NPD Group has released their results for June's US sales, and Nintendo is doing well in one area.

Sadly, we couldn't browbeat Jools into dropping a Treasurenauts date. UPDATED 11:40am ET.
In addition to the previously announced Xeodrifter Wii U date, last Sunday's edition of Nintendo World Rapport featured a couple of windows for other upcoming Renegade Kid titles straight from Jools Watsham.
As it stands, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge on Wii U and 3DS is aiming for early September while the 3DS remasters of Dementium: The Ward and Dementium 2 are looking at late October releases as they stand now.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has passed away at the age of 55.
Nintendo Company Limited announced the passing in a release on their investor website (PDF link). The cause of death is a bile duct growth, which Iwata took an extended leave of absence from his duties in 2014 to attempt to resolve.

When you walk through the sea and a fish hits your knee, that's a moray.
Squid Research never sleeps, as a new map was announced for the rotation beginning at 10 Eastern time / 7 Pacific time tomorrow night.
The Moray Tower is a test of verticality, as the two bases are at the top of huge slopes. It's possible to jump all the way to the bottom of the area from the home base to get right on the front lines, but further testing will be required to see how effective that strategy is.

Apparently licensed games still have some life in them.
Ubisoft has teamed up with Disney Interactive to bring Gravity Falls to the 3DS this fall.
Announced at San Diego ComicCon, the game is a 2D platformer where you control the show's main characters Dipper and Mabel as they try to save a kingdom of gnomes. The key art for the game was designed by the show's creator Alex Hirsch.
