Best Sound Award - GameCube:

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Whether beautifully orchestrated or simply using GameCube's impressive MIDI, the classic and original songs are smashing fun. And though I couldn't find a Dolby Surround logo, I hear excellent front and rear channels nonetheless. – Michael Cole

Although the pumping Star Wars anthems enthralled to no end, The

remixed, redone Nintendo themes won out. Especially the Mother 1 and

the original Star Fox music. And there is a piccolo in orchestra. A

PICCOLO. You can't beat that. :D – Jeff Shirley

SSBM takes the signature songs of almost all the great Nintendo games, remixes ‘em and orchestrates them and adds in some fittingly epic original music to round it out. It’s a soundtrack that will have Nintendophiles squealing with glee (or maybe that’s just me). – Max Lake

Hirokazu Ando did an impressive job in arranging the plethora of Nintendo anthems and bringing them to the next generation. Some pieces such as Fountain of Dreams (Kirby) or Fire Emblem's Theme are revitalized with such raw emotion it is frightening. – Zosha Arushan

The Pokemon theme song with backing choir brings chills to my spine. Seriously, it scares the hell out of me. – Jonathan Metts

Sure, it has a ton of classic Nintendo games’ BGM remixed. That’s great, of course, it really is. But it also has a remix… A REMIX… of the Donkey Kong Rap. That alone warrants a 10/10 in my books. I am one of the few creatures on this Earth who loves the DK Rap, and to receive a remixed and elongated version… Heaven. – Mike Orlando

Super Smash Brothers Melee: What can I say? I'm a total sucker for the classic tunes, tunes revisited, spot-on sound for everything, and the entire experience of it all. Pure nostalgia candy. – Justin Nation

Updated and modernized renditions of old, familiar tunes in all their glory. – Mike Hrusecky

Runner up: Rogue Leader – Rogue Squadron 2
