To boost sluggish sales of the handheld, Nintendo falls back to the time-honored tradition of releasing new colors.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. has revealed two new shell colors for their ubiquitous DS Lite system. Metallic Rose looks almost identical to the Noble Pink color released a year ago, but Gloss Silver stands out a bit more.

These new colors would no doubt increase demand for the system beyond current levels, if that were even possible within the physical laws of the universe.

Sure, they're growing the market and selling a boat-load of games, but what we really care about is what games they will be selling in the future. Reggie provided a little bit of information regarding these future releases.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies arrives on Nintendo's platforms this fall.

The July issue of Nintendo Power has revealed that the hugely popular Xbox Live Arcade shooter Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved is on its way to Wii and DS as Geometry Wars: Galaxies. However, there will be significant upgrades in the form of a full single-player campaign mode as well as a multiplayer mode (whether online play will be supported is unknown at this point). The Wii version will of course take advantage of the Wii Remote, and the DS version will use the touchscreen and stylus.
