Nintendo's official website says so.

Nintendo of America's official website now lists a Q1 2004 release date for Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. The game was previously expected to come out before the end of the year in North America.

Nintendo.com does occasionally contain errors, though we doubt it's the case here. However, PGC will be checking up on this story with Konami and Silicon Knights for confirmation and further information.

Props to Gumby at the GA Forums for spotting this one.

Nintendo blazes into new market territory with a very interesting product.

China is well known as a breeding ground for software pirates and pirating tools, a fact Nintendo is all too familiar with. With its large population China is potentially a very lucrative market, however, and Nintendo proved its determination to reach Chinese homes yesterday at the Tokyo Games Show 2003 with its untraditional new console, the iQue Player. See the controller for yourself in this photo, provided by GAME Watch

Japan always gets the tasty goodies.

At TGS, Bandai is showing off special "Char" editions of the GameCube and GBA SP. "Char" refers to Char Aznable (aka "The Red Comet"), a character from the Gundam universe's Duchy of Zeon. Like most of these special editions, these red beauties probably won't make it out of Japan, but at least you can take a nice long look at them here thanks to GAME Watch.

Now you can get your link on without the mess.

Nintendo recently announced at the Tokyo Game Show a wireless link adapter for the Game Boy Advance and GBA SP. The device will allow players to link up just as if they are using a standard link cable, only without the wires involved. The adapter's signal can reach several meters, but no specific distance is known yet. It was developed in conjunction with Motorola.

Iwata also mentioned that events or stores can have special base stations installed and connected to the Internet for players to transfer data from distant locations.

I-Ninja PS2 Exclusive?GC

It looks like Sony's snatched this one up for Europe, but PGC gets the full story on the US release.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) recently announced I-Ninja as a PS2 exclusive, releasing Q1 2004. We were surprised by the news, as Namco had already begun advertising the title for other platforms, and it seemed a bit late in the development cycle for such a deal.

We checked with our sources at Namco, and they have assured PGC that the game will still be released for GameCube in North America this fall. The recent announcement only applies to the European release of I-Ninja, which SCEE is publishing instead of Namco. Tough news for our readers in Europe, but at least they can still import the title from other regions.

One of Capcom's surprise TGS announcements is a new Mega Man RPG...this one starring Mega Man X and pals, and it's not for GBA.

Famitsu.com has a single screenshot and details on one of Capcom's big TGS announcements. Rock Man: Mission Command is an RPG for GameCube and PlayStation 2, to be released sometime in 2004 in Japan.

The game features RPG gameplay for the first time in the Mega Man X sub-series. Battles allow you to control a party of Mega Man X, Zero, and Axl, the new character from Mega Man X7 on PS2. According to Famitsu.com, battles will retain some action elements, including letting you press time your button presses for extra damage a la Super Mario RPG and its offspring.

Straight out of TGS, an unexpected announcement from Square-Enix.

Going into the Toyko Game Show, most people were expecting two big pieces of info out of Square-Enix: Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy VII-2. Well, both were shown (FF7-2 is actually a DVD movie, not a game), with the addition of another surprise.

Kingdom Hearts, the Disney-Square collaboration, will be making an appearance on the GBA in the form of a new game, titled Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. From the few details we've found, the game will apparently be in isometric 3D, may feature some sort of card-based gameplay, and will feature movie scenes like its big PS2 brother.
