It only took about a month for Nintendo to ship out that many.
Since its Japanese launch on December 2, Nintendo has sold 1,135,671 Wii consoles in the country. This figure was calculated by Famitsu on Sunday the 7th, so that means Nintendo went through that many systems in only 36 days.
Nintendo's worldwide sales target for the Wii was 4 million by the end of December. Worldwide figures aren't yet known, but we do the launch period figures in other regions: 600,000 in North America's first week and 325,000 in Europe's first two days. Obviously, the Wii has been selling non-stop since then, but there are now over 2 million consoles accounted for. Will Nintendo meet their sales target?
