The RPG giant wants to give you new content for ten years.
Square Enix has laid out a plan to support Dragon Quest X with new content every ten weeks for ten years. Although it was revealed by game producer Yosuke Saito on Twitter recently that the game would receive updates every ten weeks, it was further revealed by Nikkei that these updates would continue on for ten years.

Amazon and Target leak the Wii U game cases.
The first images of a Wii U game case have been leaked to the internet by Target and Amazon. The case features a blue curve across the top, reminiscent of the GameCube case designs. Beneath the curve is a yellow bar, which doesn't appear to have any color significance in relation to the Wii U console or GamePad.

Producer Matt Prior also talks about Online Seasons, friend messaging, non-twitch game modes, and how people instantly "get" the Wii U GamePad's touch screen.
"Someone asked me 'Are the graphics on par?'"
At the recent EA Summer Showcase event, FIFA 13 Wii U Line Producer Matt Prior explained recent statements that the Wii U version of EA's soccer franchise will be the "best looking" compared to other consoles. "And they are on par," he continued, "and there are a couple of features that we have been able to graphically enhance."

The Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console handheld Game Gear version of Columns will feature a 2-player local multiplayer mode.
In order to play, gamers will each need to have a copy of the game and a 3DS. Columns is being released on the eShop in Japan next week on August 8 for 300 yen.

Mega Man, Columns, and more Kunio-kun are on the way!
Rockman 2 (Mega Man 2) for the Famicom, Columns for the Game Gear and Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Bangai Randō-hen (Double Dragon II: The Revenge) for Game Boy will be released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in Japan this week on August 8.
Rockman 2 will retail for 500 yen, Columns for 300 yen, and Double Dragon II for 400 yen.

The pack will include three new figures exclusive to Skylanders Giants.
GameStop is currently taking preorders for their exclusive Skylanders Giants Golden Dragonfire Cannon Battle Pack.
Unlike previous retailer exclusives that were largely slight color variations on existing Skylanders figures, the Golden Dragonfire Cannon Battle Pack includes three new Skylanders Giants exclusive figures, the series 2 version of Chop Chop, Shroomboom, and the Golden Dragon Fire Cannon, which unlocks an in-game battle arena.

EA reveals when the game will release and what we can expect on the disc.
Mass Effect 3 will be a Wii U launch title.
During their summer showcase, EA revealed that Mass Effect 3, first shown running on the Wii U during a sizzle reel at E3 this year, will indeed release at the launch of the Wii U. According to Michael Gamble, one of Mass Effect's producers, the game will also include the extended ending and multiplayer DLC. It isn't clear if the just-announced Leviathan DLC will be included, as well.

The little hardware revision that could gets a makeover.
Two new color variants of the DSi are coming to America.
From its official Twitter account, Nintendo of America tweeted a picture of the Matte Red and Matte Blue systems. Along with the picture, the company also indicated that the systems could arrive on store shelves "as early as this week."
This news comes just a few weeks ahead of the launch of the 3DS XL in America.

The annual convention will take place June 11-13 next year.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo will continue to be hosted in Los Angeles for at least the next three years.
The Entertainment Software Association announced this week that it has reached an agreement with the city of Los Angeles that will keep the annual expo in LA. It was also announced that next year's E3 will run from June 11 to June 13.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy has been given a list of add-on songs to be released in North America this August, via a press release.
The 20 new tracks bring the total number of announced downloadable songs to 44, with the potential for more to still arrive after August.

Nintendo's 8-bit Summer may be over, but we still received a few games.

Nano Assault is getting a re-release on the eShop.
Nano Assault EX will be coming to both the North American and European eShop, according to Shin'en via Twitter.
Based on the original Nano Assault, Nano Assault EX will feature new game modes as well as new options. Shin'en has confirmed that the game will support the Circle Pad Pro accessory. Check out our review of the original Nano Assault while waiting in anticipation for this new title.
