Nintendo UK hopes to raise awareness for the console.
Nintendo will be working with Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket chain, to increase focus on the Wii U. The company feels many consumers in the UK don’t recognize the Wii U as a separate system from the Wii and are working to change that view before the Christmas shopping season.

UPDATE: The Wii U Firmware update added new enhancements to the system. Nintendo 3DS owners in Japan who register (or previously registered) two of any packaged or downloadable games with Club Nintendo between September 1 to January 13, 2014 are eligible for for a free game. This campaign excludes downloadable content or download only titles. The following fourteen titles are available for download on the 3DS eShop for those that have registered two games:

Donkey Kong isn't the only one who has to suffer.
Mario Party: Island Tour is no longer coming to Europe in 2013, as reported by Nintendo of Europe today in a press release.
The official note from Nintendo states the following: ''Mario Party: Island Tour: Not announced in this latest Nintendo Direct, but in order to deliver the optimum gaming experience for fans, Mario Party: Island Tour will now launch in early 2014.''

You can take down titans with your own hands starting this winter.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa (Attack on Titan: Last Wings of Humanity), a new titled based on the hit anime, is coming to the Nintendo 3DS on December 5 in Japan for 6,090 yen.
The game will feature a story mode that allows you to relive the main story playing as characters like Eren Jager or Mikasa Ackerman. Animated cutscenes from the anime are also featured throughout the game.

North Americans may have to wait until Q1 of 2014, but European and Japanese gamers can get this new version starting this December.
Bravely Default is coming to Europe on December 6 and the first quarter 2014 in North America on the Nintendo 3DS. In Europe, a special collector's edition will be available at launch and for those that pre-order will be able to receive an exclusive art book. This version of the game is enhanced from last year's Japanese release featuring a updated user interface, Japanese and English voice overs and new content.

The new mechanics give more power to the player.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will “offer a brand new gameplay experience,” said Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, during this morning’s Nintendo Direct.
According to Iwata, A Link Between Worlds will still include various dungeons; however, the order that you approach those dungeons will now be up to the player after a certain point in the game.

Kirby goes stereoscopic in 2014.
A new Kirby game has been revealed during this morning's Nintendo Direct video conference, scheduled to release some time next year.
The title looks to have many of the series staples, including Kirby's Copy ability, the super suction power seen in the Kirby's Return to Dreamland on Wii, and a new feature in which the puffball hero can travel forward and backward between level layers, similar to games like Donkey Kong Country Returns.

A playable demo for Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is available to download from the Nintendo 3DS eShop right now, as soon as the Nintendo Direct video concludes.
The demo is likely the one that was on show at this year's E3, featuring the opening trial and the all new Mood Matrix mode, in which you read witness' emotions to cross reference against their testimonies.

Mario fans won't be able to resist these new remotes!
Two new Wii Remote Plus controllers were revealed today. One is base on Mario and the other, Luigi.
These controllers will hit stores shelves on November 1 in North America, November 7 in Europe, and November 21 in Japan. The Japanese versions will be available stand alone for 3,800 yen each.

Donkey Gone.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which was originally scheduled to release in December this year, has been pushed back until next year.
As Iwata explained during today's Nintendo Direct, the game will now be released in February 2014. The only explanation offered was that the game is being refined and improved.

Club Nintendo Japan is now offering two Luigi “towel handkerchiefs” in honor of the Year of Luigi.
Each are priced at 120 points and feature designs in various shades of green. One towel shows a large image of Luigi himself, waving to the viewer, while the other is a checkered pattern of an 8-bit Luigi striking poses among various Mushroom Kingdom items. They are sized at 25 by 25 cm and are 100% cotton.

It's not dead, it's just taking a nap.
Shadow of the Eternals is being put on an indefinite hold according to Denis Dyack, Chief Creative Officer of developer Precursor Games.
The game was in development for the Wii U, among other systems, but has faced many problems on its journey. The first Kickstarter for the game was canceled shortly after being announced, and the second Kickstarter failed to reach its funding goal.
