Getting ahead of some upcoming bundles.
Although they'll be coming in bundle form soon, some Wii U retail games have had their price reduced on the NA eShop effective today.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10 and Yoshi's Woolly World are all now showing prices of US$29.99 or C$39.99. This is a $10/$5 drop for Captain Toad, and a $20 drop for Woolly World and Mario Party 10.

Following the release of Federation Force and a faceplate compatible New 3DS, Nintendo of America is launching an intergalactic New 3DSXL.
The "Galaxy" or "Milky Way" design is shipping to stores now, according to the announcement made by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Amie on the company's Twitter account. The new design will retail for the same $199.99/$249.99.

This week's releases awfully loud? They glide as softly as a cloud.
Following last week's release schedule that nearly broke this space, it's a much needed week of rest and relaxation. The eShops pick up a couple of interesting looking items including the latest effort from Nnooo - The Legend of Kusakari, a grass cutting Zelda-like. Also, Kickstarted title Armikrog hit Wii U already this week, and North America sees the next round of Nintendo Selects kick in tomorrow.

Discounts, exclusives, and more.
The summer might be ending, but indie developers will keep the summer jams flowing on Nintendo consoles.
Nintendo announced the "#Nindies Summer Jam" today, with a major eShop game releasing every week on either Wii U or 3DS. The developers will also show behind-the-scenes video and show their favorite games available on Nintendo systems, and their games will be offered for 10% off during the launch week.

You'll be able to take the fun with you wherever you go.
The next new project from 13AM Games will be a throwback with a modern release plan.
Although the studio is currently in the process of porting Runbow to New 3DS, in an interview at Gamescom with Nintendo World Report's Daan Koopman they confirmed that their first game as solely a publisher, Pirate Pop Plus!, will be a crossbuy game on Wii U and New 3DS.

Operation "get people to buy Nintendo games because of mobile" appears to be working.
Although the full report won't be out until Monday, Nintendo has released some figures about July's game sales in the United States which show a major halo effect from Pokémon Go.

Get to stepping Torkoal, there's a new sheriff in town.
Gamescom has brought a new Pokémon to Sun and Moon.
Turtonator was revealed during a livestream with game producer Shigeki Morimoto. It is a bipedal turtle-like creature with Fire and Dragon types and the unique move Shell Trap, which causes major damage if Turtonator is struck by a physical attack.

Gamescom drops the bombs as the spirits and souls will arrive in 2017
Yo-Kai Watch 2 will drop next spring in Europe.
The Level 5 localization was announced today in a pre-Gamescom news release, with a release window similar to the first game's. The "Bony Spirits" and "Fleshy Souls" subtitles will also be retained in Europe.
Yo-Kai Watch 2 will release in North America on September 30 and Australia on 15 October.

One in particular will be attractive to regular Netflix watchers.
The rainbow of New 3DSXLs will get a little larger this fall, but the 2DS isn't being left out in the cold.
The larger New 3DS will add three new colors to the supply on 11 November: Pearl White, Pink/White, and Orange/Black. On 7 October, two 2DS bundles with preinstalled games will launch: a blue model with Yo-Kai Watch, and a pink one with New Style Boutique 2 Fashion Forward (Style Savvy: Fashion Forward) preinstalled.

The European Nintendo Selects line will pick up some new members late next month.
Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and Mario Party 10 will be added to the lineup on 30 September. Although retail pricing was not announced due to European policy, the digital prices will lower to €24,99/£19.99.

For the 2/3 of Wii U owners who have yet to stay fresh.
The Splatfests may be done, but the splatting doesn't stop.
Nintendo has announced that the Splatoon Global Testfire will be restarting soon. European players will get to play first, with the demo restarting this Thursday (18 August) and running until 1 September. North American players will get to join in from 3 - 5 Pacific time (6 - 8 Eastern) from August 25 - 28.

European Wii U owners will be able to catch the shutter bug this week with the release of Pokémon Snap.
Nintendo UK made the announcement on Twitter this morning. The game will retail for the standard N64 Virtual Console price of €9.99/£8.99, with an upgrade option available for those who bought it on the Wii.

There's two people making Metroid games: Next Level Games and Thomas Happ.
Axiom Verge will complete its long, strange journey to the Wii U early next month.
The tribute to classic Metroid will release on September 1 for US$19.99 / C$21.99 / €17.99 / £14.99, according to the game's official website.
Originally released on the PlayStation 4 and PC with a later port to the PlayStation Vita, there was some concern about engine incompatibilities on the Wii U but those issues have been rectified.
