E3 '09: NWR Staff Predictions

by James Jones - May 25, 2009, 12:34 am EDT

As the Nintendo World Report staff prepares for E3, they find some time to make a few predictions.

We're about one week from the start of E3 '09. As part of the lead-up to the show I asked our staff to submit their predictions. I asked them three simple questions:

1. What do you think the theme of the show will be? This question applies to the entire spectacle that is E3. Last year was a small, corporate event. It was very focused on getting exactly the desired message to the audience.

2. What do you expect to see on Nintendo systems from both first and third parties? This question is pretty open-ended. I left it up to our staff to determine how they wanted to answer; I only asked them to keep it brief.

3. What is your most desired wish for E3 that you think may actually come true? This question is an invitation for wild speculation, limited only by the imaginations of our staff.

There were items that came up in almost every response I received. Compared to last year, there was a lot less crazy speculation. Consider this a long-term effect of the somewhat diminished role traditional games played for Nintendo at last year's show. That said, having read all of these I think almost everyone here has at least one interesting point to make.

Enjoy.
