As the Nintendo World Report staff prepares for E3, they find some time to make a few predictions.
With E3 rapidly approaching, it's hard to believe that I will finally be one of the attendees. For many years growing up I dreamed about attending the show, but in reality never believed that I'd ever have the opportunity. With that said, I fully expect E3 to be back in full force this year, with a full return to the way it once was: a crazy show floor, conferences full of megatons, and a ton of people everywhere. Whether it turns out that way or not, it's sure to be a good time.
Of course, one of my biggest E3 dreams is not only attending the show, but being a part of the epic Nintendo Press Conference. The question is, how epic will it be? In my opinion, very.
Going into last E3, we had a pretty clear roadmap of what Nintendo already had planned to do; this E3, we have pretty much nothing. That being said, here are my predictions for the show:
- Pikmin 3
- New Super Mario Bros. 2
- Fatal Frame IV
- The full sport-set of Wii Sports Resort
- A robust showing of Spirit Tracks
- A surprise Wii MotionPlus-centric game that will blow us all away
On the third party side of things I think we will be seeing much better support for Wii. I'm hoping to see the following:
- de Blob 2
- Monster Hunter 3
- Crystal Bearers
- No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle
- Stronger DSiWare and WiiWare support
Out of all of the things mentioned, I most strongly hope for that killer Wii MotionPlus title. I'm not sure exactly what it may be yet, but I'm really banking on a new Zelda title. Is it possible to pick a better franchise to prove the worth of the new peripheral?
