As the Nintendo World Report staff prepares for E3, they find some time to make a few predictions.

This year marks the supposed return of an E3 era that I used to watch through streaming video with envious eyes. It was quite disappointing to see the show change just a few years ago and become devoid of the passion and character it once possessed. Due to this transitional phase the show seems to be in now, I find it difficult to predict what is in store. I anticipate that the show floor will be filled with developers proudly showing off their latest titles, and that there will be so many demos to play there will barely be enough time to get to them all. Most importantly, after last year's disappointing press conference I’m hoping that this E3 will reveal highly anticipated games, as well as brand new titles that no one even saw coming. Overall, I would be lying if I said that I didn't hope that E3 2009 will be anything other than an incredibly unforgettable experience.

Ultimately there are three main things I expect on Nintendo systems during this summit. First, I expect Nintendo to focus strongly on the current and future usage of Wii MotionPlus. I'm positive we will see a polished version of Wii Sports Resort demonstrated on stage, as well as some sort of exclusive showing of Red Steel 2. Next, I expect we'll see brand new features for the DSi, especially those that will allow it to mimic a Palm Pilot. I would also love to see Nintendo bring some classic multiplayer games such as Kirby's Dream Course to the DSi store with online capability. Lastly - and I'm probably not alone on this - I am fully expecting another Wii Zelda title featuring Wii MotionPlus used for intricate sword battling.

Though all of these things would be nice, by far the one thing I would like to see most come out of E3 would be a sequel to Eternal Darkness. However, since that's probably not a realistic expectation, I'll settle for Pikmin 3...or maybe even a new Chibi-Robo.
