...I must end this charade.

Smash_Brother is my real life friend!

*Cue shocking organ music

Yes its true, he was the friend that was a dick towards SSB Melee, the one friend I truly care for. Thanks to our love for SSB we were able to meet.

I only get to see him during summer due to school, though, but we have quite a history.

So take that as it may!

S_B, we can finally drop this polite strange act and act like the true friends we are...

Nintendo Gaming / Speaking of reviews...
« on: November 18, 2006, 02:37:15 PM »
Any word on NWR's Wii reviews?

I know a couple of the editors have been playing the Wii for a week now and have put some time into Excite truck and Zelda, and I am sure you guys are hammering away at the rest of the games. Any word on reviews?

Since you guys are usually fair (you guys are the only ones I know that gave Chibi Robo the proper score it deserved), I want to see your opinion on some of the Wii games (mainly Red Steel, Rayman and Zelda).

This guy went above and beyond the call of duty. He dressed up as a giant Wiimote AND marched around a PS3 line.

Check it out!

Nintendo Gaming / How to prank people with your Wii...
« on: November 12, 2006, 05:22:20 PM »
GoNintendo just posted this video where some magazine/website editors prank their fellow editors using their Wii and some Metroid Prime footage. Trust me, the end results are PRICELESS.

OMG THEY ARE PLAYING METROID WII!

What surprises me the most is how gullible and oblivious these people are. They are supposed to be editors. Had they known their crap they would've realized that this was a hoax... XD

Nintendo Gaming / The UNDERDOG launch title of the Wii
« on: November 12, 2006, 03:56:14 PM »
Everybody's talking about getting the Wii with Zelda, Excite Truck, Red Steel, Rayman etc. but we forget that there are other titles at launch.

Out of all the titles at launch, which do you think is the underdog game of the pack? The game that will likely be ignored due to lack of hype. And most importantly, are you going to pick up/try out this game during or after launch?

Right now nothing comes to mind except the licensed games, but a great deal of them will suck, so yeah...

The ever so loved Joystiq has posted their concerns about Twilight Princess and after reading it I am worried about the overall game.

Why?

The color palette consists or dark shades of brown, you have to hit the button in order to read a sign and...the game has GC graphics...

Good...gravy. BROWN? They literally made the graphics look like crap! And hitting a button to read a sign????????? WHAT THE HELL IS NINTENDO THINKING?!?

Read the truth, IF YOU DARE...
Joystiq's Twilight Princess impressions

Ok all kidding aside, I know I've been posting Joystiq links in order to mock them, but this is perhaps the worst of them all. I mean, the guy is complaining that the game is flawed because you have to hit a button in order to read a sign, which is something that EVERY SINGLE GAME has been since the beginning of time.

If you didn't believe Joystiq was being awfully harsh towards the Wii and Nintendo, this may just do it...

Nintendo Gaming / Joystiq's...uuuuhhhh...Wii impressions?
« on: November 10, 2006, 11:54:05 AM »
The editor then wrote up impressions of the console, and showed it to his roommate in order to try out Nintendo's casual gamer approach.

The reactions are priceless...

Here's the link:
Joystiq's "in depth" impressions NSFW though

If what the guy said about the Wii is true (assuming the editor didn't "enhance" the impressions for the shock value) all I have to say is...I am EXTREMELY grateful to in the group of friends I am today. If the guys impressions on the Wii are true, then we can tell the type of person he is.

Although, I have the feeling the editor posted this to get some kind reaction. After all, if I had gotten a Wii to review and my friend/roommate made those type of comments I wouldn't even post it on the site because:
1. I wouldn't want to show off a friend like that
2. His or her reactions give no real insight in the console

Nintendo Gaming / Surprised no one if flipping out about this...
« on: November 09, 2006, 04:39:35 PM »
Joystiq has posted what could be the Wii first infamous print ad...

The ad is a "fake" article detailing how the Wii is more than just a videogame, so on and so forth. The ad also features the infamous Wii actors...

Check for yourself:
The infamous Wii ad

Where's the infamy you say? Some people see this as being a really bad ad, making bogus promises (although this confirms the claim that Nintendo would advertise the Wii as a group activity).

I personally don't mind it all that much. True, its very silly, but its nothing company haven't done before.

EDIT: Note that this was posted on an UK ad, meaning that the US print ads might be completely different.

Nintendo Gaming / Oh NO! Not Elebits!!!
« on: November 08, 2006, 03:10:36 PM »
The sad news from IGN...

Elebits NOT for Wii launch

Nintendo has lost a killer APP! THE WII IS DOOMED!!!!

...OK, now that I got all the sarcasm out of my body, its surprising that they delayed the game. Not that Elebits was essential at launch.

Maybe Nintendo thought the game could be better and demanded Konami to polish the game up. Considering the mixed reviews online, I am not surprised.

Nintendo Gaming / OMG, the Nintendo Wii is doomed...
« on: November 02, 2006, 06:02:45 AM »
NOTE: Unless you didn't noticed, the title is sarcasm...

Joystiq just posted a news story about a BBC reporter, a "non gamer" who got to try out the Wii. Turns out she wasn't impressed by Wii sports and Wario ware, but was surprisingly impressed by Zelda.

Here is the full link:

Non gamers isn't attracted by non games- LOVES Zelda, though

What I find surprising is that she wasn't able to get into the games, when everybody else could.

I also find surprising that she was impressed by Zelda, a hardcore game. As someone at Joystiq pointed out, she was more impressed by the game itself than the controls, making you wonder if she was even interested in the system at all, or didn't put the effort into playing it. After all, she calls herself a "game phobe".

I doubt the impressions of ONE reporter will affect the overall performance of the Wii. Like it has been stated more than once, the first gen games will feel like demos and it will be a while till a game is released that TRULY puts the system on the map, like the DS.

Opinions?

Nintendo Gaming / IGN (or I should say, Matt) is at it again...
« on: October 31, 2006, 07:06:15 AM »
http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/31/wii-sports-has-control-issues/

When I read "control issues", I thought that the game had SEVERE problems, like the Wiimote not responding well enough. Turns out these issues are that "you can't control the characters in Tennis".

Uuuuuuuuuhhhh...and this is an issue, how?

I thought this was the idea behind Wii Tennis, make a simplified version of Tennis so that everyone can easily get into it. Maybe hardcore gamers wouldn't have problems controlling the characters AND the tennis racket, but for children, casual and non gamers, which is the audience Nintendo is aiming at with Wii sports, it could become an issue. While I admit I haven't played the game myself, I don't see not being able to control your character a "control issue" dampens the game. Maybe some hardcore gamers will bitch about it, but it should be fine with everyone else.

This is definitely bitching for the sake of bitching.

Nintendo Gaming / Deja vu! The Nintendo DS all over again...
« on: October 27, 2006, 11:01:36 AM »
Just now I was over at Joystiq when I read some Wii impressions at Bit Tech. While the impressions are positive, it leans on the doubtful side more than once.

Here is the full link:
http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2006/..._Wii_Hands_On/

They mainly worry if the Controller will indeed take off, if the console is mainly a sparkling innovation and that people would look silly playing it.

Now why do I say that this reminds me of the DS? Because back when the DS was announced nearly everyone wondered the same thing; If the DS was too sparkling innovationy, that the PSP was the "sure thing" and that the handheld would not take off because it was too different.

Nearly 2 years later and the DS is not a hit, it's a worldwide SENSATION. Both traditional and innovative games have been featured on the DS, the most successful being simple games that make great use of the DS (Nintendogs and Brain Age).

What surprises me is how people fail to see the GREAT potential the Wii controller has. True, right now the games are simple now, but the DS also featured some simple games at first (and even then, there wasn't truly a game at launch that made great use of the DS. The Wii has more than one game that proves that the console has power behind the "sparkling innovation"). But give developers time to improve on the controls and deliver something truly amazing.

As for the looking silly issue...that certainly didn't stop Spielberg and Jamie Lee Curtis from trying out the Wii. The guys in the editorial look silly because they LOOK silly, not because of the Wiimote.

Nintendo Gaming / Could the Wii TRULY be a success?
« on: October 20, 2006, 03:26:57 PM »
Last night, I started thinking about how the Wii is going to become a big phenomenon this holiday season, with people saying that it has the potential of becoming the "Tickle me Elmo" of 2006. I then asked myself "Could the Wii truly become a phenomenon? Is it poised to be Nintendo's biggest console ever?".

The answer I came up with is "Yes, BUT it might be a while till the console reaches a similar status like the DS".

First of all, I doubt the Wii will dethrone Tickle me Elmo this Christmas. First, Elmo is a media whore, everybody knows about Tickle me Elmo, and the biggest one of all, it is cheaper than the Wii. True, compared to the PS3 the Wii is very cheap. BUT, if you end up buying a second game and extra controllers, it could set a family back over 400 dollars.

S_B had a good point in that Nintendo could promote the Wii as a family present, but even if Nintendo convinces people that the Wii makes a great family present, who is to say that some family will add up the final Wii total and say "For that type of money, we could be buying something that is useful for the family". There are families with tight holiday budgets and I am sure they will be looking for the cheapest deals, so even if everyone wants a Wii they might think of buying twice because of the price. This is why I believe that the Wii will NOT become the hot Christmas item everyone is predicting it will be.

HOWEVER, I do agree that it will certainly be a very popular console this holiday season. The pre-release hype and media attention is so far bigger than for the Gamecube. But I believe that the real test lies after the launch. At launch the hype is at its highest, with a great deal of the hype being created by the fans. It is after the launch that we will see the Wii's real strenght. Luckily, Nintendo has avoided that pitfall by having a healthy selection of games throughout 2007.

Remember, the DS took nearly a year for it to become the sensation it is today, and it took the right titles for it to reach the top (Animal crossing, Nintendogs and Brain age, among others). If they do the same thing with the Wii, they are destined to succeed. But I think it will not reach the same DS status as quickly and some people have claimed it will be. Again, the strenght lies after launch and the titles released in 2007.

Not to mention that Nintendo is UNSTOPPABLE on the handheld market. When the DS was released, Nintendo already had a reputation for delivering solid handheld experiences. Even with how weird the DS was back when it was released, the handheld Nintendo name alone helped it. In fact, even with Nintendo constantly saying that the DS wasn't the Gameboy's successor I wouldn't be surprised if people saw it as the next Gameboy (I remember at school a friend of mine saw my DS and he said "It's just another Gameboy").

The Wii, however, is entering when the Nintendo name on consoles is tarnished. I mean, even if the Wii has impressed even the doubtful who says there isn't people that will judge the Wii according to what happened to the Gamecube? People could look at the Wii and say "Looks cool, but I think it might end up like the Gamecube". This is an area Nintendo needs to work the hardesy on. So like I said, it won't be easy for the Wii to become the success people are predicting so easily.

One big advantage Nintendo has right now is that Sony is weakened at the moment. Lack of solid launch titles, a high price, lack of consoles and possible faulty equipment will harm it. But, what if Sony finally get off their asses, look at their mistakes, fix them and FINALLY present the PS3 as the media juggernaut it is, along with some truly killer APPs. Won't this affect the Wii, especially if the PS3 hype finally launches like crazy? Like Nintendo it WILL take Sony a while for them to make up for their mistakes, but once they do the Wii will have fierce competition.

So what do you guys think? I know half of these are me worrying a bit too much, but I think some of them are valid concerns.

Anyone care to add to my points or prove them wrong?

Oh and just so you know I am a Wii believer. I think the Wii will indeed capture peoples' imaginations and revolutionize the industry, but it won't be a cake walk. Success will come thanks to A LOT hard work and determination.

Nintendo Gaming / Wiiconnect24 idea/question...
« on: October 11, 2006, 11:09:39 AM »
I was just talking to a friend about this...

Can Wiiconnect24 allow developers to expand and update their games when they need to or is there the demand for it? In order words, instead of releasing an expansion pack sold separately you can just download the data off the servers and update your game.

I got the idea/question fron Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix.

The problem with this is that Square is always updating their big titles with new modes, content, story and such. Not only do they only release it in Japan they charge full price for what is essentially the same game but with some new content. I want to see the new stuff, but I don't feel like paying 40 or 50 bucks for a game I already played.

My idea is this. Let's say that Square releases a Kingdom Hearts game for the Wii and they feel that they could've added more to the game. With Wiiconnect24 they can upload a new boss battle or cutscene once a month without gamers feeling gipped and they will have the opportunity to play an updated and fresh game when they boot up the Wii.

I think developers also save money by doing this. True, they still have to program the events and such, but it would be cheaper to just release the data for a price instead of manufacturing it.

So can this be done?

Ever since Nintendo first announced that they will be creating the Revolution sometime after the end of this generation of games fans have done everything from praising the company to tearing it apart.

In this here list, I have compiled the top 5 issues regarding the release of the Wii that have caused the biggest uproar among fans. Keep in mind that this is based on what has happened since the Revolution was first announced in 2004 till Nintendo's recent press events, so other issues and complains may rise between now and the actual release of the console.

Here we go!

#5
Nothing about the Revolution at E3 2005
While both Sony and Microsoft showed off their next gen consoles, boasting everything from hardcore micro transactions to CG style graphics Nintendo showed nothing but an empty box and some promises. Even if they were playing a realistic plan rather than boast about what they don't have many fans still felt disappointed and annoyed by the "hush!" policy Nintendo loves to play at their conferences.

#4
The unveiling of the controller
Everyone was definitely expecting something special from Nintendo, but when the controller was finally unveiled at TGS 2005 many were left shocked and appalled. A controller that resembles a remote control? Even when the possibilities for immersive gaming were laid out in a neat and orderly fashion fans and even some analysts were still left annoyed by the overall design and failed to see why would this controller be "revolutionary".

#3
Final launch date revealed as well as console and controller price
Even though Nintendo has said everything fans wanted to know about the Wii at their E3 2006 press conference they still left two basic questions un-answered: the price and date. Fans were left wondering and speculating about it for nearly 5 months, but on September 14 Nintendo finally released all the launch details, including games, accessories, new features and most importantly launch date and price. The Wii will be released on November 19 2006 at the price of 250 dollars. It includes Wii sports. The controller will be priced at 40 dollars while the nun chuck attachment will be 20 dollars, raising the total controller cost to 60 dollars.

This caught many fans by surprise, as not only were they expecting the console to be around 200 dollars, the price of the controllers is too much for some. Also, some fans feel that launching right after the Playstation 3 launch might actually kill Nintendo's thunder and affect overall sales.

But time can be a cruel witch. Will fans and analyst be proven wrong as Nintendo breaks records at launch or will this be yet another mediocre move on Nintendo's behalf? Time shall tell soon...

#2
Twilight Princess on Wii/Death of Gamecube games
Ever since it was first unveiled at E3 2004 fans have been extremely anxious about playing what could be the best Zelda game ever. It boasted a dark style and storyline, something Wind waker lacked, and the fans went gaga for it like crazy. Nintendo promised it would be released Fall 2005. But suddenly, the game was delayed till March 2006 in order to add some more levels and polish the game even further. Months later, we learned that they had delayed the game once more in order to enhance it for Nintendo's new console. This spawned an anger and debate that has yet to die down across forums everywhere. Many see this as a smart move cause the Gamecube is pretty much a dead console and Twilight Princess would get ignored because of the next gen hype, and thus having it on the Wii will just create better awareness of the new console and people will eat it up. Others see this as backstabbing move towards their loyal fan base as they have been waiting forever to play the game, and yet Nintendo keeps pushing it back in favor of extras that might not make the game any better.

The release of Twilight Princess on the Wii also spawned the topic of announced GC games being cancelled and moved to the Wii, such as Super Paper Mario and DK Bongo Blast. The main reason behind the anger is because with all major GC releases being canceled, the Gamecube is pretty much dead, leaving it without a swan song of a game.

And the number one issue regarding the Wii is!!!

#1
The Wii = the final name of the Revolution
Even though Nintendo had stated more than once that the Revolution was just a code name and that it would change fans still wanted that as the final name since it stated mature gaming, it summed up Nintendo's views perfectly and it gave an overall hardcore image to Nintendo. So when Nintendo announced that the new name of the console would be the Wii, many lost control over their lower intestine.

The Wii is a play on the word "We", as in you and me. Nintendo boasts that their new console won't be just about their hardcore fans, it would be about me, you, them, your mother, your father, your sister, EVERYONE! They also stated that the Revolution might be too scary for casual gamers and thus decided to change it to something more friendly and appealing.

This was a move nearly everyone went against. It was a ridicule sounding name that would hurt Nintendo's image even further, and people went as far as to lose all hope on Nintendo. Even when E3 2006 had come and gone and fans couldn't get enough of the wee little Wii, fans were still question the power behind the new name. Even Nintendo's head developer Shigeru Miyamoto had expressed that he was not sure about the logic behind the new name.

In the end, it seemed that for now Nintendo has proved us wrong in that you can name the console "Caca Popo pee pee shire" and people would still eat it up because of its ingenious gaming design, not the game.

So there you have it! The top 5 issues that have spawned the most debate ever!

Keep in mind that this is based on what has been seen around the internet, so I may be wrong. Also, if you don't fit in any of these categories don't take offense. I know not everybody got upset the minute Nintendo said something.

Oh and feel free to add onto this list and fix/edit some of it.

Nintendo Gaming / Wii Sports: Potential gateway drug?
« on: September 15, 2006, 07:08:47 PM »
This is something I just thought about now...

Everyone's been whining, bitching and complaining about Nintendo's decision of bundling the game with the console, supposedly raising the price of the whole thing. One of the main reasons is that some gamers don't want a tech demo.

But thinking about it, I think Wii Sports has the potential of becoming a hit and convincing people that the Wii is the greatest thing in gaming since Pong was created.

Let's analyze a couple of points:
- It's a simple, honest to goodness game: let's look at the DS. What have been the biggest sellers? Simple games like Nintendogs, Animal Crossing and Brain Age. These games may be simple in gameplay and execution, but have a charm that people can't resist. They are very easy to get into and they provide hours upon hours of entertainment. Wii Sports has that charm to it. True, it may look like a tech demo gone wrong, but if gameplay delivers it will capture the hearts of people the same way the DS has done.

Red Steel has the potential of being a high caliber killer APP for the Wii, but isn't exactly the type of game you would introduce to people outside the gaming community. It is too dark and gritty and may even scare people off, especially with constant news about how crime games are affecting society. Zelda also has potential to be game of the year, but this is more of a fanboy game than a game you use to introduce people to the Wii.

Wii Sports on the other hand has a simple but cute presentation (complete with a face design feature), it is very approachable (sp?) and very easy to understand and play. Sometimes you need something simple in order to understand a behemoth. Hey, the first gaming sensation was Pong and it was a simple game, yet that small game started a successful industry.

- It has a theme that everyone can relate to: Even those that aren't avid sports fans (like me) enjoy going out and do some sports. Wii Sports will provide a slight simulation of that experience, and who knows, may even make it better for some.

- With it being bundled, it GUARANTEES that people will not miss it: With all the hype surrounding some of the launch titles (like Red Steel and Zelda), this small game had the potential of being over-shadowed due to its simplistic nature. But with the game being bundled people will take notice and finally play it and this sound crazy, but people might actually love it!

Remember people, the Wii is a drastic change in gaming. Nintendo shouldn't just mention it to the people. They basically need to shove it down our throats in order for the idea to be accepted. Bundling the Wii with the game might be an act of force towards the consumer, but it is one that needed to be done in order for the console to be accepted.

So yeah, it might be upsetting to some that the game is included, especially those that never wanted it, but if you think about it, Wii Sports may go from tech demo to potential APP that will sell many consoles and thus revolutionize the industry the same way the DS did.

General Gaming / Gitaroo man
« on: June 24, 2006, 09:07:44 PM »
So I finally found a copy of the game...

I've been very curious about the game and I've been meaning to get a copy of the game because some of my friends really love the game. And after playing a lot of Ouendan on the DS (which was made by the same company) and loving it, my curiosity of the game grew even more.

So far, I have to say this is perhaps one of the most frustrating music games yet!

The learning curve is extremely big, perhaps even bigger than that of Ouendan's. Both games aim for the "simple to learn, hard to master" type of control scheme, but I think Gitaroo man is the hardest of the two. The line control with the X button and the left stick is surprisingly tricky, perhaps a bit too tricky since even the smallest mistake can destroy the line. Not to mention awkward and painful on the fingers.

To be honest, I have yet to see why people love this game so much. So far, I like Ouendan better. Then again, when I started playing that one I did have a rough learning period till I was finally able to enjoy it, so maybe Gitaroo man will get better.

Any words on this?

Nintendo Gaming / What's the deal with Madden Wii?
« on: May 23, 2006, 09:01:41 AM »
I heard last night on a videogame Podcast that Madden Wii had faulty controls and was getting negative vibes from people at E3. Yet I just read PGC's best of E3 awards and they gave Madden Wii the honor of best sports games at E3, saying how great everything work...

So which is it, was the E3 demo of Madden Wii good or bad?

769
I thought about this just now and decided to make a list of the things Nintendo has done right and wrong with the Wii. Feel free to add onto the list as there are many details I may mis during the creation of the list.

What they have done right so far
- Innovative new control scheme: Rather obvious one. If Nintendo had stayed with the Gamecube 2.0 idea it wouldn't have been as exciting and it's the innovation that is making people excited for the new console.

- Attracting a lot of developers: So far, it seems that Nintendo has been doing a great job of attracting 3rd parties to the Wii thanks to it's unique plans for the release. They even got developers who hadn't developed for a Nintendo console in YEARS!

We need to see how the developer support holds up for the next couple of years, however, as right now they may have a lot of developers at their side but they might or might not stay with Nintendo at the very end.

- Game download service: While we haven't seen how the overall service will work, it is in general a great idea. Imagine not only having the latest and greatest Wii games you have some of the best games of all time in an easy to reach online service. I wouldn't be surprised if some people pick up the Wii just for the game download service.

- A great launch promised: True, we still don't know if those 20 games will truly be there or there will only be 3 to 4 titles, but so far it seems that Nintendo understands that they need a great variety of games at launch in order to stay in the competition. No more 2 or 3 games business or small games at launch. Nintendo needs to bring the games home and BADLY.

- Red steel the first Wii game revealed: This can easily be argued, but you have to agree that having a dark and mature game be the first game ever revealed was a good move on Nintendo and Ubi's part. Nintendo knows that they need to get some older players into the console and what better way to do that than to show off a dark and gritty FPS that may offer a truly inmersive (sp?) experience?

- Embracing online gaming: And about time too! They finally realized that people wish to play Nintendo's greatest games with their friends around the world. They haven't fully explained how everything will work, but so far it seems a lot of games will be online ready at the Wii release.

- Good publicity: Nintendo has done the impossible and that is gain a lot of good publicity (well, until they revealed the Wii name that is :p). First, they got Game informer, a magazine that has openly stated that the idea behind the Wii had no real merit, raving about a Wii game and BELIEVING in Nintendo's Revolution. Then they got EGM praising it, going as far as to call it " a winner". And now with the Time article, Nintendo has gotten a lot of good press. The Wii needs a lot of good press as the more it gets the more people will have faith on Nintendo.

Enough with the good, now for the bad...

What they have done wrong so far
- The new name: This can be EASILY argued, but I think we can all agree that the new name (Wii) could make or break the system. I mean, the name is so crazy it could actually work! Or it's so stupid it could easily scare away some customers.

I think this is really a 50/50 thing. We won't know if Nintendo has truly done right and wrong until the Wii is launched and see how it does for the next couple of years...

This is all I can remember. Don't forget to add in any I may have missed.

Nintendo Gaming / What Nintendo must avoid at the Wii launch...
« on: May 02, 2006, 08:02:54 PM »
I was thinking about this just now...

If Nintendo plans for a succesful launch and a strong period of sales...

They MUST avoid doing the same thing they did with the N64 launch and the Nintendo DS launch and that is release everything at launch then release nothing for 2 or 3 months.

Nintendo has to keep a steady flow of titles coming after the release of the Wii. The DS had this same problem. Not only was the launch line up weaker than usual there wasn't anything released till spring 2005.

If Nintendo decides to stay like 2 months without releasing anything it could hurt the Wii's chances of being a success.

What other stuff do you think Nintendo must avoid at launch?

771
Nintendo Gaming / What will likely happen at E3
« on: May 02, 2006, 08:51:02 AM »
I was thinking about this last night and summed up in my head what will Nintendo do at their pre-E3 press release. Some are bound to happen, others are elements of wishful thinking from me or anyone else.

Let's get this over with...

Nintendo will fully show off the Wii: UH.....DUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!

Seriously now, Nintendo's main focus will be the Wii, it's games and the controller.

However, I think we might get more info on:
- Their online service
- Their downloadable game service
- Third developer support
- Marketing strategy
- Expected sales

Nintendo will show off an updated Twilight Princess: It hasn't been shown since last year's E3 and I'm sure it must've been updated by now.

In fact, don't be surprised if they use TP as another game to show off the Wii controller (unless the Wii features are so small (...) it isn't worth mentioning at the conference)

Further plans for the Nintendo DS: Completely expected. This is where they might reveal a completely new killer APP for the DS as well as announce the US launch of the DS Lite (and boast how insanely popular it is around the world).

Wishful thinking department: The Wii name will be changed: At admit at first I truly believed that thanks to the massive negative reaction the name got at first the name might get changed in order to appeal to fans. But then this might be wishful thinking at is finest...

At the very least, though, I think we will see further explanation of why the name was picked, explain to fans why the name works and tell us how they are going to market it. I REALLY hope they don't recycle the same comments from Kaplan. "We wanted to be similar to Yahoo!".

I know I am missing some stuff, you guys can add to the list of expected E3 happenings.
