Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush is coming to Europe on May 8 and Australia/New Zealand on May 9. The November 2014 Nintendo Direct originally gave a window of September 2015, and no reason was given for the earlier release.

Atlus is wasting no time in following up Etrian Mystery Dungeon (due out in early April) with the long-awaited sequel to Etrian Odyssey Untold. A remake of the 2008 DS dungeon crawler, Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight will feature a new story mode similar to the original Etrian Odyssey Untold that includes an exclusive character class in the demonic Fafnir.

Sim City Developer Maxis Emeryville is Being Shut Down by EA

Well at least it wasn't ended by a meteor strike.

Maxis Emeryville, the developer behind the Sim City franchise, is no more after being shut down by its parent company Electronic Arts yesterday.

In an official statement, an EA representative says that employees at Maxis will be given other opportunities for work in other EA studios. For those leaving however they are "working to ensure the best possible transition with separation packages and career assistance."

Nintendo's Toy-to-Life Figures received feedback that they were too large and expensive for the Japanese toy market.

Nintendo intentionally made their Amiibo Figures larger and more expensive than Japanese consumers were used to, according to remarks from Company President Satoru Iwata at a recent Financial Results Q&A. This was done to position the figurines — of which Nintendo shipped more than 5.7 million units worldwide last year — better for the global markets.

New Nintendo 3DS owners in Europe can look forward to nine new sets of Cover Plates. These are scheduled to release April 2.
