Whether via card or download, they're still digital monsters.
2019 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Digimon anime arriving on Western shores, and Bandai Namco is celebrating with the newest Digimon game.
Digimon Survive has been announced for release in 2019, which is the current window for the game's Japanese release. Survive is a "survival RPG", in which the character's choices determine how the monsters evolve as well as the game's ending.

The release list for the week got a sudden jolt of electricity around the middle of last week, so look for a lot of updates. And there's special guest musicians.
Bandai Namco's drumming series is coming back to the Americas.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'N' Fun will be the localized title for the Joy-Con powered rhythm title, which will release on November 2. Previous entries in the series have released as Taiko Drum Master.
Special guest drummers for the Switch version will include Kirby and a Splatoon squid.

Let's see how it will drive sales.
The third Labo kit has been announced.
The Toy-Con "Vehicle" kit will launch on September 14, and will feature multiple types of vehicles to build and play with. A plane, submarine, and car are among the included forms of transport.
Also included in the Vehicle kit are keys, which can be moved from one vehicle to another while playing the game.

"Salt and Sanctuary" is also a service provided by the NWR forums.
Four major independent titles have been announced for the Switch today, and three of them will be launching next Thursday.
Ska Studios announced today that their hit 2D RPG Salt and Sanctuary is coming to the Switch next week for US$14.99/C$19.99. A physical version of the game will follow this winter.

It got upstaged a bit, but it doesn't cost anything to try now.
Paladins debuted at E3, and the free option is available now.
The game's entry on the eShop replaced the previously US$29.99 or equivalent Founder's Pack with the free edition today, as promised at launch. The Founder's Pack has been removed from sale completely.
Although the game is free to download, there are still ingame purchases of Crystals.

A former German "Best Computer Game" and its direct sequel are landing on Switch next week.
Headup Games have announced The Inner World and The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk will both release on the Switch next Friday (August 3). The original title will be $/€11.99 or £9.99, with The Last Wind Monk setting back $/€14.99 or £11.99.

2K will be covering the simulation and arcade sides of basketball this fall.
In addition to their annual NBA 2K release, 2K has acquired the publishing rights to NBA Playgrounds 2. The Saber Interactive game is now slated for a fall release on Switch.

Funny thing: It's already started.
Fresh off their second consecutive E3 victory, Devolver Digital is going all in on Switch for the next month.
Devolver announced the "Summer of Devolver" today on their social feeds, confirming six major releases for the Switch. The first release is the "Advanced Gungeons and Draguns" update for Enter the Gungeon, which released last week.

That kid really gets around.
For the second time this week, Zelda: Breath of the Wild is invading a game - only this time, it's a future release.
Capcom and Nintendo have announced that the Switch hit will be represented in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. No release date was given for the pack, which includes the Champion's Tunic and Hylian Shield. Palicoes will also be able to dress up like the familiar Koroks.

Patience awaits the North American octo-kid.
The Octoling Amiibo announced at E3 now have worldwide release dates.
Europe and Japan will see the three figures on 9 November, while North America will see them on December 7 along with the Inkling Amiibo of the Smash series.
Functionality have not been announced for the figures, who can be fought for in a worldwide "Squids vs Octopus" Splatfest this weekend.

We've got the motorcycle, but nobody has the children's cards.
After Labo support last month, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update train continues to roll on.
The 1.6 update has added an entire set of Breath of the Wild crossover content: Link in his Champion's Tunic, the Master Cycle Zero, Ancient Tires, and the Paraglider. The update is available for download now.

For those about to rock, it won't cost that much.
XSEED has revealed the cover art and release plans for the localization Tak Fuji's latest rhythm title, Gal Metal.
No additional details for the release were given beyond Fall 2018, but there will be two options for purchasing the game. The US MSRP for Gal Metal on the eShop will be $29.99, with an "Encore" DLC pack adding five additional characters and stories for $9.99. A retail release will include the game and DLC for $39.99.

The original adventure of The New Kid should be out within a couple of months.
The Switch is getting its second South Park RPG of the year by the end of September, according to Ubisoft.
In a financial results call yesterday, Ubisoft revealed that South Park: The Stick of Truth would be coming to Switch in the July - September quarter of this year. Currently, the game is slated to be an eShop-only release.

Nintendo wants to see 30 indie games a week release on Switch. Surprisingly, they're not there yet.
Another day, another three hundred hours of gameplay onto my backlog that's growing larger than Dara O'Brian's head. Nintendo has two retail Switch games this week in Octopath Traveler and Captain Toad, who also sneaks over to the 3DS. There's also Shining Resonance Refrain, once referred to as the "bankrupt man's Tales" with a side of fetish artist, and also Alex Culafi's sleeper hit of the year in Pato Box.

The first part of the Cosmic Star Heroine release puzzle is falling into place.
The long-awaited throwback RPG is now available for preorder on the Switch eShop, and will launch on August 14. Preordering the game will offer a 10% discount.
Limited Run Games reiterated with the announcement that a physical copy would be available "later this year or early 2019".
