Nintendo Unveils Kid Icarus: Uprising Pre-Order Details 3DS

3DS owners can receive 3D Classics: Kid Icarus at select retailers, game will come with 3DS stand. 

Pre-ordering Kid Icarus: Uprsing at GameStop, Best Buy, or Amazon will earn North American customers a download code for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus, a remastered version of the NES original. The remake, though faithful to the original, contains new backgrounds and 3D graphics. 

Download codes for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus were previously given away in Europe as part of a Club Nintendo promotion.

Kingdom Hearts 3D Japanese Release Date Announced 3DS

A special edition bundle and a 10th anniversary set are also on the way.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be released in Japan on March 29, Square Enix recently announced. Previously Square Enix had only said that it would come out in March of this year.

Square Enix also announced a special edition 3DS bundle to go along with Kingdom Hearts 3D's release. The 3DS will feature decals based on the series. Price for this bundle has not been announced.

Japanese Sales Slow Down, 3DS Still Strong Wii3DS

The holidays are over, which means that sales have gone down.

Japanese sales data from January 9 through January 15 show a drop in sales due to the end of the holiday shopping season.

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy to Feature Downloadable Songs 3DS

The Final Fantasy musical game will have more songs beyond the initial set of tracks.

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy will feature downloadable songs, character designer Tetsuya Nomura confirmed in an interview with Famitsu.

It is not clear if the additional songs will be added to the rhythm game for free, but paid downloadable content will not arrive on 3DS until the spring. The game is set to be released in Japan on February 16, with a new demo showcasing some new songs coming in early February.

Hudson Soft Being Absorbed by Konami

The Hudson brand will continue to live on, however.

On March 1, 2012, Konami will be dissolving the entirety of Hudson Soft.

A notice posted by the developer revealed that the company, as well as all of their intellectual properties will be absorbed by Konami. The agreement was reached during a board meeting on January 12, part of an effort by Konami to pool all of its development resources into one company.

Japanese Monster Hunter 3 fans will be able to download a new quest at 7-11 convenience stores.

Ubisoft Closes Vancouver Studio Wii

An unsuccessful streak lead to Ubisoft closing the studio.

Ubisoft's Vancouver studio has been shut down, the company recently confirmed.

A Resident Evil: Revelations demo hits both regions, while Europe gets an exclusive Cooking Mama 4 demo.

Playable demos are coming to the eShop in North America and Europe starting tomorrow, more than a month after demos launched in Japan.

The debut demos are Resident Evil: Revelations (North America and Europe) and Cooking Mama 4 (Europe). Resident Evil: Revelations hits shelves in both regions in the next few weeks. Cooking Mama 4 has been in stores since November.

Gotta catch 'em all...at the arcade!

A new Pokémon arcade game has been released by Namco Bandai. The game, titled Pokémon Medal World, is a simple medal game (games which trade real money for medals used to "gamble" for prizes), aimed at players of all ages.

The game allows up to four players on one machine thanks to the large benches around the unit, and features original video to accompany the gameplay.

Japanese gamers will get the chance to play the game this April.

Code of Princess is set to release on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on April 19.

This side-scrolling brawler, developed by Agatsuma Entertainment, features 4 playable characters as well as characters designed by Kinu Nishimura (Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors). Fans of Guardian Heroes should also rejoice because the game is designed by the same team.

Hatsune Miku and Future Stars Development Is Complete 3DS

The rhythm game is finished and heading to Japanese store shelves soon.

The development of Sega's Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai is complete, according to a post on the series' official Twitter.

The vocaloid-starring rhythm title, which will see release in Japan on March 8, concluded its year and a half development time according to the Project Diva's Twitter page. Whether the game will ever come to the west is unknown.

New tables are waiting for DLC support from Nintendo.

Zen Pinball 3D will receive new tables in approximately two to three months, according to a Zen Studios representative posting on the company's forums. The availability of DLC is dependent on Nintendo support through the eShop.

In response to a customer question regarding the upcoming tables, the representative stated, "We'll be adding more tables when Nintendo implements the functionality to do so...should be in 2-3 months, last I heard."
