Nintendo adds more color to the 3DS lineup.

Nintendo will add a new color, Cobalt Blue, to the Nintendo 3DS lineup in Japan on March 22. The unit will retail for 15,000 yen. 

This marks the sixth color variant for the system in Japan. There is no word at the moment if the Cobalt Blue 3DS will be released outside of Japan.

The Wii U controller did not always control similarly to 3DS.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D gets a special 3DS this May.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D will receive a special bundle in Japan that includes a Nintendo 3DS with an original design. The bundle, which launches on May 31 to coincide with the release of the game, is priced at 24,490 yen and features an Ice White 3DS with blue and gray slime designs and “dragon quest since 1986” written on it.

The popular indie PC title did not pass Nintendo's content review process.

The Binding of Isaac is no longer under review for release on the Nintendo 3DS. According to Edmund McMillen, the game’s creator, “After a long internal debate Nintendo has decided NOT to allow the Binding of Isaac on the 3ds. As many assumed the reasons were due to the games 'questionable religious content'. Thank GOD Steam exists!”

Is it a secret Wii U feature or just a Wii idea that didn't pan out?

Nintendo is considering an environment sensor unit that could interface with the Wii, a recent patent application reveals.

The filing reveals a number of possible applications. The sensor data can be used to predict the weather, estimate the time of year, and detect which room in which the device is located. The sensor readings can also be used to alter in-game content.

The DS games have also been given a tentative release period.

Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 have been formally announced for release in North America and Europe.

The announcements were made in two press releases issued by Nintendo announcing the localization, with both territories being given a release date of fall 2012 (which places the release date in either September, October, or November).

The scary spirit-snapping saga continues.

The updated remake of Project Zero: Crimson Butterfly (known as Fatal Frame in the USA), the second game in the ghostly photography series, has been reconfirmed for a release on Nintendo Wii.

The game, first announced early last year, will feature updated graphics and character models over its original PS2 and Xbox counterpart, as well as fluid aiming controls with the help of the Wii Remote.
