Pokémon X and Y will support a new type of evolution called Mega Evolution, as shown in a recent issue of CoroCoro.
While the details of performing a Mega Evolution have not been fully disclosed yet, a few new forms have been shown including: MegaBlaziken, MegaMewtwo, MegaAbsol, MegaMawile and MegaLucario.

Mario & Luigi are once again making their way to a handheld near you, but Wii U owners, do not despair! DuckTales: Remastered will be available just two short days later!
Unfortunately, no 3DS Virtual Console love this week, but the Wii U gets, what I consider, one of the best feudal Chinese warlord simulators ever to release on the Super Nintendo.

The L train in Chicago will be transformed for a Luigi celebration.
Nintendo's continuing celebrations for the Year of Luigi will now include a partnership with the Chicago Transit Authority in which the L Train on The Brown Line will be transformed into the Luigi Line to mark the retail release of New Super Luigi U.

The digital space is getting a lot of love from indies in Europe and down under.
A slew of upcoming digital-only Wii U eShop games developed by European and Australian independent studios were showcased during the recent EU Nintendo Direct broadcast.
The spotlighted selection includes original titles like shoot-'em-up Scram Kitty And His Buddy Rails and newly-unveiled adventure game So Hungry. In addition, ports of software previously released on other platforms were shown, such as Nihilumbra and Wooden Sen'SeY.

A special Nintendo Direct focusing on the upcoming Wii U game The Wonderful 101 will be broadcast on Friday, August 9th, at 7 a.m. PST and 10 a.m. EST.
The Wonderful 101 Nintendo Direct was announced at E3 earlier this year, and Nintendo President Satoru Iwata gave the more specific details on this special presentation during today's Nintendo Direct.

Feudal Japan in 3D.
Nobunaga's Ambition for 3DS will be releasing in Japan on September 19 for 5,040 yen, as announced in today's Nintendo Direct .
The game will feature branching paths and DLC as well as expected StreetPass and Spotpass features. There is currently no word on a release outside of Japan. Check out the trailer below.

Darumeshi Sports Shop is now available on the Japanese eShop.
The game is an eShop mini-game collection that includes several baseball-based mini-games like batting, catching, and more. The game is available at 400 yen, and is both published and developed by Nintendo. Check out the trailer below.

One of the most shocking announcements ever!
Luigi has been confirmed as a playable character in both the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros.
Luigi's inclusion in the games should come as no surprise to Smash Bros. fans as the eternal understudy has appeared in every iteration of the series.This news comes from today's Nintendo Direct presentation and was revealed as part of The Year of Luigi celebration.

Why get a red 3DS LL when you can get a Luffy Red 3DS LL?
Two One Piece Special Edition 3DS LL systems are coming to Japan.
In a bundle with the new One Piece game One Piece: Unlimited World R, these 3DS LL systems will be available in "Luffy Red" and "Chopper Pink."
They are set to come out November 21 only in Japan, and there is currently no word on a Western release.

It's classic Miiverse with an Animal Crossing twist.
A free Animal Crossing-themed Miiverse-integrated application, called Animal Crossing Plaza, is available to download right now from the Wii U eShop.
Unveiled during today's Nintendo Direct presentation, the app functions similarly to Miiverse's WaraWara Plaza, but instead of Miis, the plaza is occupied with hundreds of Animal Crossing characters.

More information about Link's newest portable adventure inside!
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds has been officially confirmed to take place many years after its predecessor, A Link to the Past.
As Satoru Iwata mentioned in today's Nintendo Direct, the game will feature an entirely new Link in the Zelda continuity, who is very likely to be a descendant of the hero in the previous title.

2013's hit horror-action anime Attack on Titan is set to receive a 3DS game this year in Japan, as revealed in a Kodansha-published pamphlet included in the latest manga issue.
The game, being developed by Spike Churnsoft, adapts the popular series depicting a post-apocalyptic village of humans fighting for survival against gigantic zombie-like monsters.

Who doesn't love pumpkin pie?
Even more DLC is coming to Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
The first new piece of DLC, a pumpkin pie, will be available on August 11th at any Nintendo Zone location. New DLC is currently planned be released through September of this year.
