Nintendo Gaming / Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour website opens
« on: July 22, 2003, 02:14:55 PM »
I've never played the original, but I'm glad it has the option for automatic swing. Many times people try out a game and hate it immediately just because they can't even figure out the controls.

Hitman, if you're going to sell/trade in your PS2 and games DO NOT use Gamestop. They rip you off horribly. My friend sold his PS2 on Ebay with 9 games for about $250, which is at least double what Gamestop would give you.

I'll get FF:CC if it's not too short. That's a problem that's been plaguing a lot of Nintendo's recent games.

General Chat / What type of gamer are you?
« on: July 21, 2003, 11:35:00 AM »
Age: 15

First Console: NES (Friend bought me a used one for $20 at Gamestop about 8 years ago)

Game that really got me into gaming: Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt

Consoles owned: NES, Playstation (bought this from a friend a couple years ago, used it for Tony Hawk 2, and now it's gathering dust), Game Boy Advance, Game boy Advance SP, N64 (bought from same friend a couple years ago, used), Gamecube.

Favorite console and why: Either the N64 or gamecube. After my NES died, I only played video games at others' houses. Then I bought an N64 even though the gamecube was out, because it had awesome games. I hadn't even heard of gamecube until I saw a SMS commercial, but I bought one last January and it kicks ass. GCN got me into hardcore gaming.

Favorite games: In no particular order: Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Diablo II, Quake II, Super Smash Brothers, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Metroid Prime, Wario Ware, Crash Bandicoot 2.

Most anticipated games: F-Zero GX, Soul Calibur II, Mario Kart: DD, XIII, Tales of Symphonia, Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, Half Life 2, Metal Gear Solid : Twin Snakes, Prince of Persia, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Viewtiful Joe, Custom Robo.

Favorite genre: Platform and Action/Adventure

Wish for the future of gaming: More original games, less crap.

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid...for x-mas?
« on: July 18, 2003, 07:37:10 PM »
There is also going to be a sequel to Metroid Prime on the gamecube. There is a video out and a pictures of it, but I doubt it'll be released on Christmas holidays--that's about one year from Prime's release to its sequel's.

I'd say definitely get Mario Sunshine. It's a great game in its own right, but it's really not what people were expecting from a Mario game. Also get Eternal Darkness, awesome game.

General Gaming / Halo 2 to come out this year?

More likely Halo 2 will be released November 2004 . You know how long it's been delayed for.

Nintendo Gaming / Ikaruga Level question
« on: July 16, 2003, 11:30:14 AM »
To play levels in practice mode you have to beat them without using a continue. If you're in the end of level 3 and only have 1 or 2 lives, waste them & use a continue so that when you get into level 4 you will have max lives.

General Chat / Did you guys see Banzai yesterday?
« on: July 15, 2003, 07:51:20 PM »
Banzai was great. My favorite part was the one legged soccer player versus the one armed goalie. And yea I could've sworn the red panties woman was on the left.

Nintendo Gaming / IKARUGA! HOW MANY HAVE IT
« on: July 12, 2003, 08:23:54 PM »
Ohh yea it's really that hard. The way I beat it at all was by playing for 7 hours, which gets you unlimited continues. It took me about 10 to be able to beat the first 2 levels without continuing. I'm trying for the second unlockable but it is really insane, because you have to beat the game with one continue. The game is still awesome though.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Commercials Thread
« on: July 10, 2003, 01:48:59 PM »
The new Nintendo commercials are definitely better than the old ones (SMS). I saw the game boy player and Rogue Squadron commercials, the ones with the EKG running in the beginning, which I thought were cool. I also like how they're airing commercials for games that haven't been released yet. The game boy ads are pretty good too, especially the Donkey Kong Country ad.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: mario party or monkeyball?
« on: July 10, 2003, 01:42:50 PM »
Go with Super Monkey Ball 2. Although I only rented it, I played it for like a week and it's fun. The multiplayer games are for the most part good (especially monkey fight), and it has a much better single player version than Mario Party I think. But keep in mind SMB 3 and Mario Party 5 should be coming out in several months.

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime General Help
« on: July 09, 2003, 09:06:13 PM »
I need some help. I'm on hard mode in Metroid Prime and have been stuck at Omega Pirate for a very long time I have tried at least 15-20 times to beat him, but the pools of phazon and space pirates always screw me up. Oh and is beating it 100% worth it? (no spoilers please), and does it matter whether you do it on hard or easy mode? -Thanks

General Chat / I hate pimples
« on: July 09, 2003, 08:53:42 PM »
Yes, anyone who doesn't get pimples, consider yourself extremely lucky. Nothing is more annoying than pimples or acne, especially on the chin or nose. Then they go away and you think they're gone forever, but they return. Damn them to hell I say.

Nintendo Gaming / Soul Calibur II Bonus Stuff
« on: July 09, 2003, 07:56:29 PM »
Ah crap. I just pre-ordered Soul Calibur II from Amazon.com and as far as I know, they have no discounts or cool stuff. Damn. Anyone know if there will be any bonus for preordering F-Zero?

Hello all. I just signed up for the forums even though I've been reading them since January, when I got my gamecube. Best forums I've seen, less anti-Nintendo negativity than others. And props to Planet Gamecube for the awesome site.
