Gridlock hits the 3DS Virtual Console in the form of a classic edition of Picross.
Five new games hit the Nintendo downloadable platforms today, with DSiWare getting the lion's share.
On the 3DS Virtual Console, we have Mario's Picross, the original title in the Picross series that has players solving picture puzzles in a grid form by giving clues on the top and left edge of the grid. This 1995 release formed the basis for the DS hits Picross DS and Picross 3D. The title costs $3.99 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
Also hitting the eShop this week, along with the DSi Shop, are three DSiWare titles. The first is B-Team Episode 2: Ice and Venom, the second in the series that began on May 30, 2011 with B-Team Episode 1: Dust and Steel. This humorous take on the top-down shooter presents 21 different missions and supports co-op play via local WiFi. The game costs $7.99 on the 3DS eShop or 800 Nintendo DSi Points ($8) on the DSi Shop.
The second DSiWare game is Go Fetch! 2, the sequel to the November 2010 DSiWare title Go Fetch!. Like in the first title, the objective is to choose a puppy, and guide him or her to balls that are thrown in an environment, while avoiding obstacles. The game costs $4.99 on the 3DS eShop or 500 Nintendo DSi Points ($5) on the DSi Shop.
The last DSiWare game this week is Play & Learn Spanish, an educational title that hopes to teach players some of the fundamentals of the Spanish language. The game features over 700 commonly used words and phrases, and contains two different modes, one for fun and one for learning. The game is available on the 3DS eShop for $7.99 or 800 Nintendo DSi Points ($8) on the DSi Shop.
The last game is a WiiWare game titled Monochrome Racing, a top-down racing game in the style of Super Sprint. The environment is completely monochrome, but each of the racers represents a different color. The game features up to 80 tracks and 10 different cars. It is available on the Wii Shop for 500 Wii Points ($5).
Also available for 3DS owners is a new addition to the Nintendo Video application in the form of Pizza Quest, a video from CollegeHumor about a quest for the best pizza ingredients. Of course, like all Nintendo Video content, this is free.
