The Last Story and Pandora's Tower could be on the way as well.

A September release is set for Xenoblade Chronicles, according to Mathieu Minel, Director of Marketing for Nintendo France. The game was previously confirmed for a 2011 European release. Mr. Minel went on to say in an E3 interview with Gamekyo that he is hopeful that two other big name titles on the Wii, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower, will also be localized for European audiences.

Xenoblade was originally released in Japan in June 2010 and was published by Nintendo. The European releases will feature spoken English dialogue and have multiple subtitle options. This version will also retain the original Japanese spoken dialog as well. As of right now, Nintendo of America does not plan to bring the title to North American audiences.

While Minel couldn't directly confirm the other two titles, he said, "We are on the American continent, so I can not talk about The Last Story... Hopefully, it will come out. We are only allowed to say 'hope'... it's a promising hope... just as for Pandora's Tower." The marketing director followed up his statement with a large smile.

Hironobu Sakaguchi, director of The Last Story, told Gameblog.fr informally last month that his game would be coming to Europe.

Thanks to BlackNMild2K1 for the tip.

Talkback

I hate the way Nintendo try to make us feel grateful that they're supporting their own system with software they've already developed. We shouldn't have to kick up a fuss and beg for this content, it should be as standard.

Wow.  Kudos NoE!!  If they pull off the trifecta it will really be something for the European audience.

...and NoA Homebrewers.

Count me in on importing the PAL releases. Stupid NoA. >:\

Kytim89June 24, 2011

I call for Reggie's resignation from NOA.

CericJune 24, 2011

I like a clear explanation of why games are released in NoE and not NoA even if its Special Order.

Retro DeckadesJune 24, 2011

Are there any reasons why Nintendo wouldn't let someone like Xseed publish these games in NA? Other than, you know, just being total dicks?

With Xseed using the NOE translation for Solatorobo, that gives me a little hope. But since Solatorobo likely came from their relationship with Namco Bandai, I'm not sure so sure. I asked Xseed about that a few years ago, but they seemed like they wouldn't even know where to start in trying to secure a deal with Nintendo. They're a pretty small outfit, unfortunately. Nintendo did let Atlus publish a couple games that NCL published in the past (Polarium Advance and Cubivore), but that was last generation, so I don't know what the policy is now.

CericJune 24, 2011

I missed the release of Cubivore because of some life things then spent about 2 years trying to find a used copy.  I don't know if it was really worth it but it is an interesting game ... I really need to beat that.

Oh and nobody cares how often the other direction is ignored?

I can count at least 2 games on the JP-only list that would clearly bomb in North America (Tingle and Mecha MG) and one that probably should be made mandatory for the entire continent to own but probably would bomb as well (Common Sense Training).

I care, but an explanation by NoE would only be a curiosity for my.  Like the NoA explanation would be a curiosity for you.  Though the NCL explanation would be interesting to us all.

I don't see how Mecha MG would really bomb. Sure, it's not gonna be a mega seller but it'll likely make a profit. That's how Sandlot games are, not huge hits but cheap enough to make that they'll make money anyway. Plus what's not to like about mech combat?

CericJune 27, 2011

I'm all for Mechanized combat.  When I get home Today I'm going to put up for Display one of my Omnimech Mechwarrior posters from the early 90's.
