The X button doesn't do anything. It could have been an extra action button or a quick weapon change. Again, not a big deal though.

Actually, it does have a function.  Hold down the X button and you'll automatically pick up an item when you walk over it (basically it simulates tapping the button).  Also can be used to activate switches and talk to people.  Pressing L or R while holding the X button rotates the camera (outside of town).

Online works like a charm.

I see someone went and braved the first public release of the SMF 2.0 Beta.  :D  Good stuff.  I like the new moderation panel it has. :)

Might I suggest this spoiler mod?  Or even this one.

Simply blacking out text seems a little too simple.

At the start of the game, you select your cow's name, breed, and gender…but like the other cows in Barnyard, your cow will have milk-producing udders no matter what.

Being one of the few dairy farmers that likely visits this site I'd like to point out that all cows are female.

Female = cow.
Male = bull.

They probably added udders to the males because the ESRB would object to penises.
Nah, it remains hidden most of the time.  On the other hand there is the big pair of nuts.

In the latest issue of Game Informer.

I found some pics of the pics (don't ask where).  Definately better than the Xbox.  I'm now tempted to buy that issue of GI if I ever see it.

Edit:  Ahh, somebody posted them I see.

Descent 4?

That game too.

Although I never played it much, my brother was really into the Descent games.  Descent on Revolution would be a must buy for him.

Good work getting the site back in order,  I know it would have taken lots of hard work.  In the end I bet PGC will be stronger as a result of this.

I could mention about how bad it would be if this happed close to E3 but I won't just to be safe.

Has this keyboard been released?  This announcement is the only mention of the sharkboard I can find anywhere.

I can answer this one and you won't like the answer.  To play any multiplayer you need to have GBA's, a controller can only be used in single player.

Sounds like it can be compared to PSO.  Offline/single player good once in a while however online/multiplayer is where all the fun is.  I'm still playing PSO online.

I happen to have a brother, access to a GBA and GBA SP, and a link cable (a second won't be hard to get ) so I'll probably get Crystal Chronicals some day.  If sales for some reason are a little slow I'll just have to get it a bit earlier.

I still haven't decided if/when I'll get this game.  The GBA requirement for multiplayer isn't what's keeping me away.  There are just too many other Cube games out there I want, I don't have the time or money to get them all.

There is one question I have, what is the game like with two players?

This is good news for me, I haven't been able to find the Datel keyboard anywhere here on PEI so I've been keyboardless on Ep. I&II for over a year now.  I don't see how no stores here wil carry this Mad Catz keyboard since it is a PS2 compatible device.  If it was a GC only keyboard then I'd be worried.

TalkBack / RE: Nintendo Reveals "Third Pillar"!
« on: January 21, 2004, 06:50:06 AM »
I'm going to chuck a bit of my change into this thread.

Procession mentioned earlier that humans are unable to control two different elements at one time.  While that may be true we can quickly shift our focus between two elements (screens ;o) with out any loss in concentration.  If we couldn't then we wouldn't be able to use the side and rear view mirrors when we drive.

Now, why use two screens when split screen on one larger on could be used?  The answer is simple, developers would rarely use split screen (outside of multiplayer).  How many single player games are there today today that makes heavy use of split screen?

This dual-screen handheld sounds very interesting, Nintendo has definately gotten my attention with this.  I'll wait atleast until after E3 to pass my final judgement.  So far it looks promising.

Actually, Firebird is fairly stable.  There didn't seem to be anything wrong with 0.7 that would keep me from using it as my default browser.  If you want some bugs then get the latest nightlys which have features they're testing and perfecting for the 0.8 release.  Two of the biggest changes you'd probably notice are the new download manager and bookmark manager.  The download manager has been in it for a while so it has many of the bugs worked out.  On the other hand the bookmark manager was just changed this week so it still has some bugs that need to be ironed out.  One of the bugs makes the manager window widen each time you click a certain button.  It's quite fun actually.

When I logged in to MSN Messenger this morning I got a message saying there was a new version available so I got it.  Now I'm immediately logged out when ever I log on. O_o

Congratulations!
> Microsoft

I went extension crazy lastnight and downloaded a bunch.  Just to have them I got the card games, block fall, and minesweeper.  For some reason mnesweeper won't appear in the tools menu.  Got that are more practical and know I'm going to use.

-TabScroller
-Copy Image
-External Application Buttons
-Things they left out

There are other ones I got too but I'm not sure if I'll ever use them.  Still, extensions are fun stuff.

I found that after I made the post.  In the end I decided to start from scratch since I had a lot of junk in my old bookmarks.

Edit: About 10 minutes ago I installed the TabScroller extension.  Ever since I started using Netscape 7 I wanted a way to easily switch between tabs, now I have it.

I'm downloading firebird now to give it a go.  Any idea how much farther before a 1.0 release?

Edit:  Alright, I've played around with it for a bit and I'm impressed.  One thing that always bugged me on Netscape and Mozilla was loading the IGN Boards.  The browser would always freeze for a few seconds, this is now gone with firebird.

Is there a way to import my bookmarks from Mozilla?

General Chat / RE: Why you should drop IE
« on: December 05, 2003, 07:22:53 AM »
I started browsing the net in the Netscape 3 days so you don't need to convert me from IE.  Up until a few weeks ago I have stuck with Netscape (even the ultra buggy netscape 6).  Netscape 7 was great, tabbed browsing and pop-up blocking is something I can no longer live without.  On thing I can't understand is how people wouldn't like tabbed browsing.  There is nothing I hate more than having my taskbar cluttered with windows.  With tabbed browsing I can cleanly have 20 screenshots open in one window.  Currently I'm using Mozzila 1.5.  One day I decided to install it since it should be less buggy than Netscape (it's built on the Mozilla code right?).

What differences are there between Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird?  I'm sure it was said already but there's too much reading to sort though.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Who's looking forward to PSO Ep. III?
« on: December 02, 2003, 02:36:11 AM »
Battles shouldn't be too long, I think most of the longer battles are over after 30 minutes.  Turns have time limits so you won't have someone sitting for five minutes wasting your time  Most battles are probably under 15 minutes.

Sega.net doesn't exist anymore, it died with the Dreamcast.  You still have to pay a monthly Hunter License ($8.95 US) with the first month being free.  If you had Ep. I&II you could use the same HL for both it and Ep. III (that's the deal in Japan atleast).

It's unoffical Feb. 04 release can't come soon enough for me.  I've been looking forward to this game ever since I first heard about it.  The online tatics battles sound like a refreshing new twist to the PSO series.  If you have any questions about the game feel free to ask.  I know people who have the import so it shouldn't be too hard to find an answer.

So...the headphones and adapter can only be found on Nintendo's online store.  That won't do me any good when I get around to buying a SP...
