The best and the worst are exposed in our Fifth Annual Awards.

The DS has surprised us this year. It has exceeded our wildest expectations and voting for games to win in most categories was a difficult task. There have been so many impressive games in both 2D and 3D, but only one game had Waluigi Pinball, Tick-Tock Clock, and Airship Fortress. All three stages were not only visually impressive, but easily rank among the best Mario Kart tracks. In addition, the locales were all brightly colored, the retro courses were stunning (particularly the GameCube ones) in their fidelity, and the kart animations, explosions, and other assorted effects sweeten the visual confection even more.
Runner Up: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
