The best and the worst are exposed in our Fifth Annual Awards.

Best Sound - Game Boy Advance

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

The Legend of Zelda has benefited from Koji Kondo's simple, yet inspiring tunes. This game remixes those tunes and offers some fine original compositions by composer Mitsuhiko Takano. The Legend of Zelda series has been a benchmark of overall high quality since inception on both Nintendo's handhelds and consoles, and in sound design, this is certainly no exception. Plus, we're all suckers for the traditional Zelda sound effects. We defy you to play this game and not crack a smile whenever the music indicates that you've discovered a secret.

Runner Up: Mario Tennis: Power Tour
