Best Sound - Nintendo DS

by the NWR Staff - December 30, 2005, 10:01 pm EST

The best and the worst are exposed in our Fifth Annual Awards.

Best Sound - Nintendo DS

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

The DS's first Castlevania, Dawn of Sorrow, reaches aural heights that has won comparisons to the highly respected Symphony of the Night. Castlevania has always maintained excellent sound quality on Nintendo's handhelds, and DoS works to exceed the high expectations we have for Konami's Triple A series. Composer Michiru Yamane--who has consistently written beautiful music--nearly tops herself with this iteration, bringing players to emotional highs and lows by varying between driving rhythms and quiet ballads, all nicely adorning lyrical melodies.

Runner Up: Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan!
