Planet GameCube's E3 2002 Thank yous!

Billy Berghammer's thank yous

by the NWR Staff - May 31, 2002, 2:31 pm EDT

  • Mike Hrusecky – At the last minute one of the crucial people on the E3 2002 team couldn’t go to E3. Instead of pouting and whining (I pouted and whined more) Mike transferred his disappointment into a very successful home team commander. E3 isn’t all done in LA. Mike proved that.

  • Tammy Nation – The second day of E3, I got an instant message from Justin Nation telling me we had shirts on the way. Justin’s wife Tammy embroidered 3 polo shirts for a couple of our staffers to wear to appointments. I mean, Justin doesn’t do squat anymore, but suddenly Tammy comes through for the team. I love the shirts, and the staff can’t wait to get more! Thank you!

  • Tom Stratton – We may have got off on the wrong foot, but I think you are doing a hell of a job with Golin Harris. Thank you for all of your help setting up appointments and meetings. GH is a much better place because of you. Give this boy a raise! Hope you enjoy your vacation!

  • Alison Holt Brummelkamp, Julia Roether, Eileen Tanner, Perrin Kaplan, Beth Llewelyn, Chris Olmstead, and the rest of the NOA PR People for all of your help through out E3 with appointments, questions, and warm smiles everyday.

  • Team Nintendo – From the ones who I’ve known in the past (Thom, Jason, Kelly, Taylor) to the new ones I met, thanks for helping me with learning all the controls and the cool facets of these new games. Thanks for not getting annoyed with my many questions.

  • The E3 Expo personnel (ESPECIALLY ASHLEY KIM) – Thanks for getting us in early, and giving the world the first glimpse of the E3 Expo Show floor. Ashley you always take good care of us. Thanks for everything. You are a sweetheart!

  • Everyone at Sega. It's your fault I bought a PS2, and it's your fault I'm getting a goddamn XBox.

  • Yoshinoya – I love your beef bowls. Please start extending to chain of eateries to Minnesota. Like now.

  • Charles Martinet - Thanks for the absolutely coolest Mario moment ever. Thanks for the quick chat! And yes, I DO THINK MARIO SHOULD TALK MORE!

  • Shigeru Miyamoto – Thank you for creating Mario. The 6 year wait after Mario 64 is over, and Mario Sunshine is everything I wanted it to be and more. I played and beat every level, and absolutely loved every moment with Mario Sunshine. I cannot wait until July 19th. Thanks for making my Mario dreams come true once again.

  • Rick Powers and Jonathan Metts – Between E3, Server stuff, and staff things, my plate was very full in LA. These two staffers kept me sane. This trip was successful because of you. You should be very proud.

  • Steven Kent – You are definitely one of the few first class professionals out there. You are the man. Thanks for all the kind words, and the Monkey Target 2 challenge. You may not have won, but you sure kicked my ass!

  • Adam Sessler – Another one of the pros out there, Adam was very fun to talk to and rap about the show with. Keep up the good work with Extended Play, and even though I’m not as cute as Kate, I’d love to be your new partner in crime.

  • The Top Secret Society of Internet Cafes in LA - $40 for DSL for the entire staff? Hell yes! Thanks for saving my ass with having a spare Dell Laptop power cable!

  • Sylvia and the C.I. crew – Every year you take care of us beautifully. Whatever we needed hotel or transportation wise, you easily accommodated us. Thanks for all of your help! We’ll see you next year!

  • THE WINDY DALE – Cases of Mountain Dew as far as the eye could see. Well as much as my fridge could hold. Thanks for the dew bro!

  • Ben and Liz - Thanks for keeping an eye on Louie while I was gone, as well as keeping my place clean. Well sorta. ;)

  • Louie teh Cat - I promise, next year, I'll figure out how I can get you in.

  • Brian Erwin and John Barry – My peeps, and my brothers! Thanks for helping me blow off steam in Santa Monica and Venice. Give the ladies a kiss good-bye for me ;)

  • Jonathan Buss – Rosco’s Chicken and Waffles never tasted so good. Sorry I couldn’t spend more time with you cuz!

  • Daniel Bloodworth – Our LA entertainment and food connection! Thanks for setting up the Episode II trip, Yoshinoya visits, and Karaoke/Sushi night, and housing our homeless staffers! Next year I’m going to dress you up like Julie the Cruise director from Love Boat.

  • My real life family – I can’t thank you enough for your undying support of this project we call Planet GameCube. If it weren’t for you, this wouldn’t be here at all. I’m looking forward to seeing you all very soon!

  • The Planet GameCube readers – You all rule. Thanks for the donations that saved our asses repetitively. To all you people who have pre-ordered our DVD, THANK YOU!

  • Adam Kontras – Thanks for donating your time and expertise with producing and filming this video. When people see this DVD their heads will explode into hundreds of pieces. I’m proud to have you on staff and apart of our family.

  • The E3 2002 Team – LA and home teams, you all rocked the web. There isn’t another site out there that had all the coverage that PGC had. Thanks for putting up with the extremely late hours, and long meetings. Everyone worked as a team, no one died, and no one got arrested. Some things can really put a smile on your face.

  • The Planet GameCube Staff – I’m not sure what else I can say about the staff. I don’t think I could pick a better group of people to do this. We are very fortunate to have the talent we do on this site. This site wouldn’t rock so hard without you. I love you all.

  • To anyone who I forgot - I didn't forget you. Plug your name and respective service in the blanks. Pat yourself on the back.

    Thank you ________ for ________.
