Activision – Guitar Hero III in Mono

In a moment of breathtaking buffoonery, Activision brought us Guitar Hero's Wii debut in glorious monaural sound, despite the packaging assuring consumers of Dolby Pro Logic II support. This glaring oversight is notable both for the irony of afflicting a music-based game, and for adding another considerable drawback (alongside the lack of downloadable content) to the Wii version of this sales juggernaut. While GH III did perform strongly on Wii, Activision still finds itself dealing with this mistake today, both with a replacement disc program and a lawsuit for deceptive marketing.
