The Nintendo producer wishes to develop relationships with other studios of the same caliber as Retro Studios.

The upcoming Nintendo 3DS will arrive early next month in North America.
Earlier this week, D3Publisher announced that its first Nintendo 3DS game has gone gold and is due out on May 10.
Dream Trigger 3D is an arcade shooter in which players must expose enemies using a sonar and shoot them into multicolored patterns.

Adventure Island II arrives on the Virtual Console service this Friday.
Adventure Island II will be arriving across Europe this coming Friday for the Wii's Virtual Console for 500 Nintendo Points.
Adventure Island II was originally released for the NES in 1991. The game has been available on the Japanese Virtual Console since late last year.
No release info has been given for North America.

Capcom's debut Nintendo 3DS title is set to become a best-seller.
Since the launch of Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition a little under two months ago, Capcom has shipped over one million copies of the game to retailers worldwide.
This figure means that SSFIV 3D is set to become one of Capcom's most successful handheld titles in recent times, second to the Japanese phenomenon known as Monster Hunter.

Poor sales in Japan cause Nintendo's stocks to drop for five consecutive days.
Yesterday, the investment services company Fisco issued a report about Nintendo's stock prices, which have continually dropped for five consecutive days.
One of the largest factors in the decline are the current underwhelming sales of the Nintendo 3DS. While it had a strong debut in Japan, sales tapered off, and the system was outsold by the PlayStation Portable last week by over 15,000 units.

Square Enix's new Dragon Quest game appears to have exceeded their own expectations.
Square Enix released an upgraded version of the million-selling Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 last week. In its first week, the re-release managed to shift 163,008 copies.
Surprisingly though, the game was sold out in most of the country. According to Media Create, the game saw an incredibly high sell-through of 96.1%.

Sony's PlayStation Portable outsells the Nintendo 3DS by a considerable margin.
After narrowly beating out the PlayStation Portable last week Japanese sales, the Nintendo 3DS fell below its competition this week by a considerable margin.
The Nintendo 3DS managed to shift 43,000 handhelds in Japan last week, 15,000 last than Sony's leading handheld.
The PlayStation 3 also continues to outsell the Wii. The former console managed to shift 27,000 units last week as opposed to the Wii's 10,000.

Level-5's upcoming Nintendo DS game has been delayed once again.
After being delayed from its initial 2010 release, Level-5's Mystery Room for the Nintendo DS was expected to launch in Japan this Spring. Earlier this week, however, the publisher announced the game would be released some time later this year.
As for the reason for the delay, Level-5 explained that it needed more development time in order to release a quality product.

Namco Bandai's upcoming Nintendo 3DS game has a new release date.
Following the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan last month, Namco Bandai delayed One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special for the Nintendo 3DS.
There are reports circulating that the game will arrive in Japan on May 26. No pricing has been announced for the game.

The first Wi-Fi compatible Virtual Console game arrives in Japan this Tuesday.
Two new classic games are scheduled to release on the Virtual Console next week in Japan.
The first of the two games arriving on the service is the arcade conversion of Puyo Puyo from Sega. This version of the game is also the first Virtual Console title to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for online play. The game will be available for 800 Nintendo Points.

Not to fear, the project isn't canceled. Hopefully.
In wake of the recent natural disasters in Japan, the Mega Man Legends 3 Project was feared by many to be delayed, or even canceled.
In a recent blog post, however, producer Tatsuya Kitabayashi stated that the game has been given the green light and production has restarted. He posted up a group image of the cast supporting the quake recovery, signed with the Japanese title as "From the Rockman Dash 3 Project Staff".

Level-5's first game in the series has reached a new threshold.
Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino revealed today via a tweet that Professor Layton and the Curious Village has sold more than one million copies in Japan.
Professor Layton and the Curious Village is the first game in the series and was released in Japan of February 15, 2007.

A live performance of Mother's theme, "Eight Melodies", will be streamed live from Japan to fans all over the world.

Nintendo's upcoming Wii title, Pandora's Tower, is scheduled to be released in Japan on May 26 retailing for 6,800 yen. The details come from a recently released trailer for the title that reveals the game's visual style as well as in game combat.
The combat gameplay strongly resembles games such as God of War, but given the limited scope of the trailer it is hard to judge if this is a superficial comparison.

All proceeds were donated to the Red Cross as part of the Play for Japan auctions.
A Nintendo DS system signed by Shigeru Miyamoto, Satoru Iwata, and the voice of Mario, Charles Martinet, was recently auctioned for $3550. The auction was the product of a charity program, and every dime went to support the American Red Cross relief effort for Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.

Steel Diver will be patrolling European shores on May 6.
Steel Diver will finally see a European release on May 6, 2011, Nintendo of Europe announced today. A launch game in North America, this puts the European release well over a month later.
The Nintendo UK website for Steel Diver has been updated for the announcement.
The game was scheduled for a Japanese release in March, but was delayed to a yet unspecified date.
