A Renegade Kid-developed kart racer and a zombie torture simulator (snicker) are heading to 3DS.
Majesco Entertainment announced today that they will be releasing both Pet Zombies in 3D and Face Kart: Photo Finish exclusively for the 3DS. In Pet Zombies in 3D, players will have the choice of caring for - or deviously tormenting - human zombies. Face Kart: Photo Finish will feature arcade-style racing and multiple uses for the 3DS camera.

Speakers will discuss a range of Nintendo-related topics including 3DS, Nintendogs, DKCR, and WiiWare titles.
Game Developers Conference 2011 is set to feature a diverse set of Nintendo-related speakers and lectures. Newly announced speakers include Super Mario Kart director Hideki Konno, producer Kensuke Tanabe, and members of Retro Studios.
Hideki Konno will lead a lecture titled, "Development Process of Nintendo 3DS." He is expected to discuss the challenges faced in creating the 3DS as well as his work as the producer of Nintendogs + Cats.

Conduit 2, previously scheduled for February 15, 2011, is now slated to debut on March 22, 2011, according to publisher Sega. The game, a sequel to 2009's The Conduit, was originally scheduled for fall 2010, but it slipped from that release window into 2011. Check out a new weapons trailer below:

The newest Kingdom Hearts will feature lots of flying and falling in 3D.
Kingdom Hearts 3D's official Japanese name is now Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, according to Andriasang.Revealed at Square Enix's 1st Production Department event in Japan, there was not much more new information released about the game. A teaser site was opened, and a few screenshots were released.

The latest statement suggests that some software will not work due to particular features and restrictions.
A recent statement from Nintendo suggests that some Nintendo 3DS software titles may not work on consoles from another region due to languages, age rating, parental control functionality, local laws in each area, and network services. Nintendo has said that to provide the best gaming experience, the possibility exists for some software not functioning properly when used on hardware from another region.

The new handheld will support the DSi charger.
Nintendo has updated their Japanese Nintendo 3DS hardware page with more new details regarding their upcoming handheld. Andriasang.com has posted a translation of those details. Among them are the following:
The Nintendo 3DS will be compatible with the DSi and DSi LL charger. The DSi used a different charger than the DS Lite, which used a different charger from the original Nintendo DS.

The 3DS remake of the Wii's Unlimited Cruise titles feature more than just 3D graphics.
The first new details about Namco Bandai's Nintendo 3DS compilation/remake of Wii's One Piece: Unlimited Cruise 1 and 2 have been revealed, in latest issue of Weekly Shounen Jump. Announced in December, Unlimited Cruise SP will contain two new characters: Boa Hancock and Emporio Ivankov.

Like their Wii counterparts, mature-rated 3DS games in Japan will have black packaging.

Regular DLC is unaffected.
The latest announcement for Rock Band DLC and Rock Band Network tracks includes the news that this week's Rock Band Network Wii releases will be the last. Harmonix cites the smaller online install
base, limited demand, and significant amount of production work required
for conversion and processing as reasons for no longer publishing the Network

Japanese 3DS owners will get to play Steel Diver, Super Monkey Ball, Splinter Cell, and 13 more in March.
March looks to be a busy month for 3DS games in Japan as 16 titles are slated to come out, according to Nintendo's updated release schedule.
The lone Nintendo title is Steel Diver, which is set for a March 17
release. Sega will publish Super Monkey Ball 3D, Ubisoft will release
Rabbids: Time Travel and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D, and EA will

Word has it that Nintendo's new console will be restricted by region.
A NeoGAF user has posted text from an email newsletter released by
Nintendo Japan's support team supposedly confirming the system will have

The latest Pokémon title is now its biggest seller.
Pokémon Black and White has crossed the five million unit mark in
Japan, making it the fastest DS game to reach the milestone, according to
Famitsu (via Andriasang).
The game, which launched in September 2010, sold just shy of the
mark last year. It took a little more than a week of 2011 for Pokémon Black and
White to cross the five million unit threshold. The exact number of
units sold is 5,036,724.

The President of Nintendo will keynote March's Game Developers Conference for the fourth time.
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo's president, will keynote the 2011 Game Developers Conference on March 2.
His presentation, entitled "Video Games Turn 25: A Historical Perspective and Vision for the Future," will focus on how developers can use the successes of the past to help them with future game development. The number in the title stems from the fact this will be the 25th GDC.

The mini-site looks to be a placeholder until the preview events later this month.
Nintendo recently launched a web page for the Nintendo 3DS on their European sites.
The page only contains a picture of the 3DS and the words "See It. 2011", giving no further details. It is likely that the page will be updated following the 3DS Preview Events on January 19.
In 2004, Nintendo introduced the first DS with slogans such as "See It. Touch It. Play It." and "Touching is Good".
