FarSight Studios tries their hand at Kickstarter once again, this time with a Star Trak table.
In an effort to bring the Star Trek The Next Generation Pinball Table to The Pinball Arcade, FarSight Studios is asking Kickstarters to pool together and pledge a total of $45,000 to help pay for licensing fees and other costs that make bringing pinball tables such as this one to the game difficult.

Could this be the final title for SiNG?
Sing Party, an upcoming software title, has been registered as a trademark by Nintendo of America.
As of right now, there is no word as to whether the title refers to an previously announced game or a new one, but SiNG for Wii U, from Nintendo and DJ Hero developer Freestyle Games, was unveiled as a working title when it was announced at E3 this year.

The shipment of Diamond Trust of London, a DS game kickstarted into existence by Jason Rohrer finally arrived at his doorstep.
Independent game developer Jason Rohrer, creator of the DS game Diamond Trust of London, received his first shipment of retail copies of the final game on August 7, making his game the first retail game for a Nintendo system funded by Kickstarter and shipped.
The shipment dropped off by a FedEx freight truck contained 21 boxes of the game's special edition, and 104 boxes filled with regular editions of the game.

Speed X 3D finally makes its way to the 3DS eShop in North America.
Gamelion, the developers behind Speed X 3D, revealed that the game will be available on the 3DS eShop on August 30 in North America.
Speed X 3D is an endless tunnel racer that boast four game modes, 3D effects, and a low barrier to entry. The game has already seen releases in Europe and Australia earlier this month.

I'd wager a lot of money that we will find out the launch date, line-up, and price on this day.
Nintendo is holding a Wii U press event in New York City on September 13. It will begin with a presentation hosted by Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime that will be focused on "learning more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment." There will be hands-on demos for the press following the presentation.

The Nintendo magazine will stop publication soon after nearly 25 years of circulation.
Nintendo Power, a magazine in circulation since 1989, will no longer be published, according to Ars Technica and confirmed by Nintendo Power staffers.

This WayForward-developed Metroidvania game promises a vast variety of locations, puzzles, and boss battles.
Game Mill Entertainment announced Hotel Transylvania to the Nintendo DS and 3DS for a September 18 release for $29.99.
The 2D platformer, developed by WayForward, will be released slightly before its big screen counter part, Hotel Transylvania, the animated movie which it is based on.

They brought over The Last Story, but it looks like they're passing on the final Operation Rainfall title.
A localization of Pandora's Tower or Retro Game Challenge 2 is not in the cards at XSEED, according to members of the staff who answered questions on Kotaku last week.
Despite bringing The Last Story to North America last week, an XSEED representative plainly stated "I don't believe [Pandora's Tower] is in consideration right now."

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is now live in the North American eShop as of midnight ET/9 p.m. PT. It is available for download for $39.99.
The latest side-scrolling Mario game is also the first retail title to be released on the North American eShop. Players who want a physical copy of New Super Mario Bros. 2 can go and buy it in stores as of August 19 for the same $39.99. The size of the game 2,950 blocks, or 370 MB.

3DS XL owners won't go without charging cradles for long.
An official power adapter and charging cradle for the 3DS XL has been listed on Amazon UK. The set is listed to become available on August 24th for £19.99. The standalone cradle is also listed on NOA's online store for $19.
The 3DS XL in Europe and Japan does not come with a power adapter or charging cradle. Systems in other regions do not come with a charging cradle, making this the first view of the optional plastic holder.

Japan is gearing up for the first limited edition 3DS LL hardware.
A Pikachu Yellow limited edition Nintendo 3DS LL will be released on September 15 in Japan retailing for 18,900 yen.
The unit, which is exclusive to the Pokémon Centers across Japan, will be available for preorder starting on August 25 until September 14. Pokémon Centers are located in Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.

A QA tester for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 lists duties that include testing the game's PS3 & Wii U versions.

Iwata "accidentally" discussed Mother fans outside of Japan with the series creator.
The Mother/Earthbound fans in the West were briefly mentioned by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in an interview with Kotaku.
"Just yesterday, before I left from Japan, I met with Mr. Itoi, who is the creator of the Earthbound series," Iwata responded to a question about Mother 3. "And, yeah, accidentally we were discussing that there are huge fans from Western countries for the Mother series [laughs]."
