Additionally, Pikmin 2 might debut as a Nintendo Selects title.
New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis has been listed as a Nintendo Selects title in the Canadian websites for FutureShop and Best Buy. New Play Control! Pikmin 2 might also be released as a Nintendo Selects title when it comes out in North America, according to a Canadian retailer ad.
Mario Power Tennis is listed for an October 6 release, but since Nintendo has issued no official confirmation, the validity of the date remains in question.

Hearts are broken and souls are shattered as Nintendo pulls the plug on the free 3DS 3D video service.
Itsu no Ma ni Terebi, also known as SpotPass TV, is going to be shut down for good on June 20 in Japan. The service, which launched on June 19, 2011, is a joint service between Nihon TV and Fuji TV that brings free 3D video content to Nintendo 3DS users in Japan. Types of content included programming teaching you how to do magic tricks, Japanese idol sumo wrestling, sports, 3D dating, and more. There was no reason given for the cancelation.

The Pinball Arcade has been given release details for Wii, Wii U, and 3DS on the game's official Facebook page.
In regards to a Wii version, developer FarSight Studios stated that "Unfortunately, the Wii isn't powerful enough to run Pinball Arcade," but concerning a Wii U version, FarSight is "very excited about the Wii-U and hope to release as close to the launch of the platform as possible."

Soon Japanese players will be able to experience Level-5's next game.
Level-5's upcoming game Time Travelers for the Nintendo 3DS now has an official release date in Japan. The game will be launching on July 12, 2012, for the price of ¥5,980.
Time Travelers is an ensemble story driven game from Jiro Ishii the creator of the visual novel 428. The game is based on character choices and also incorporates quick time events to engage the player.

Will QR codes lay eggs?
The Japanese site for Mario Tennis Open reveals some of what the various QR codes for the game will unlock, including codes to unlock multicolored Yoshis with different statistics. The site currently shows a blue Yoshi and six question-mark circles representing other characters.
There is also one QR code that will give players a Yoshi costume, enabling their Mii to run as fast as Yoshi.

A Global TestMarket survey may have revealed new Wii U tablet functionality and a tentative $300 price tag, as reported by GoNintendo reader Porygon.
In one question on the survey, the question is asked: "How likely are you to purchase Wii U if it cost: $299.99?", potentially suggesting a general pricing range.

After more than three months of nothing, the Game Boy Virtual Console returns to life in the United States.
Kirby's Block Ball, a Kirby-themed Arkanoid game, is hitting the 3DS Virtual Console in North America next week, according to a listing in the 3DS eShop. Previously, the game was listed on the eShop, but with a "TBA" release date.
Ironically, Kirby's Block Ball came out in Europe on February 9, which was the last time a Game Boy was released on the Virtual Console in North America. The game hit the Japanese eShop last October.

The Avengers just hit the big screen, and now a game is on its way.
Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth, a motion-controlled action game, is coming to Wii U this year, according to The Washington Post.
Ubisoft recently filed a trademark for Avengers: Battle for Earth, but at the time no game announcement was made. A few days later, we have learned that the game is coming to Nintendo's upcoming console, the Wii U, and also Kinect.

Fans should not lose hope, however.
A sequel to Kid Icarus: Uprising is not in development or planning stages, says director Masahiro Sakurai.
In an email interview with IGN, when asked "if he and his Project Sora team had created such a rich, lasting universe so that it could easily be returned to in future projects," Sakurai said "If by ‘lasting universe’ you mean to ask if there's a sequel, the answer is no.”

Another hint for Runner 2, formally known as Bit.Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, was given on the game's development blog.

Over 30 million Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure toys have been sold as of March 31, 2012 according to the Activision Blizzard Q1 2012 financial conference call. In addition, the game was the third-best seller across all platforms in Q1 when taking accessory sales into account. It was the best-selling kids title in the quarter.

Sonic Labyrinth for Game Gear and Downtown Nekketsu Kōshinkyoku Dokodemo Dai Undokai for Game Boy will arrive on the eShop in Japan on May 16 and retail for 300 yen and 400 yen respectively.
Sonic Labyrinth is a puzzle game that was originally released in 1995 on the Game Gear where players guide Sonic through the pinball-like arena to locate hidden keys.
