The great RPG drought of 2016 lasted about, oh, six days?
Giant swords will rain down on the Wii U Virtual Console in North America with the release of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
The 1996 Nintendo/Squaresoft collaboration will launch for $7.99 (US/C) with the $1.50 upgrade option available for owners of the game on Wii.

The four player puzzle game had a disc release rumored pre-E3.
Tumblestone, the multiplayer puzzler from the Quantum Astrophysics Guild, will have a couple of release dates this summer.
The first release will come on July 12 with the game's digital release, followed a few days later by the game's launch as a Xbox Live Games with Gold title. A physical release for Wii U (and PlayStation 4) will then follow on August 30 from Nighthawk Interactive.

Another Nindie title taking advantage of that power boost.
forma.8 will soon have its platforms number 2.
The Nindies @ Home title from last year was recently revealed to be in development for New 3DS, but this version will release shortly after the Wii U version does.

Price cuts are intended to coincide with this.
One of the Wii U's most notorious titles will be losing its online services at the end of the year.
An announcement on Nintendo's support website has indicated that the online services for Devil's Third will end on December 28 of this year. The in game "Golden Egg" microtransactions will no longer be available as of noon Eastern time Monday.

The 25th anniversary plans include six stages and a movie.
The blue blur is about to smack into the silver screen.
Sonic Team sat down with Famitsu magazine in Japan for this week's issue, during which a new game (platforms to be announced on July 22) and a feature film was also announced. (Translation courtesy SOAH City)

The number is hard to nail down.
A busy week for RPG fans may be about to get busier.
Nintendo of America has announced that they will be adding Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games to the Virtual Console this week, with the first series of games (Red Rescue Team on Game Boy Advance and Blue Rescue Team on DS) as well as the "third version" of the DS Explorers series, Explorers of Sky.

Furthering its Game of the Year win with some nice cosmetic things.
Nintendo of America has detailed how amiibo will work in the next Metroid title.
The information, sent out via the company's Twitter, shows different character skins for the Blast Ball mode, while scanning either of the Samus amiibo (regular or Zero Suit) will unlock skins and other ingame benefits. Details of the nature of the benefits were not provided.

A surprisingly spry week when you get a major game dropped at random.
The shock releases of BOXBOXBOY's preload and especially Rhythm Heaven Megamix make for quite a pricey week on the North American eShop. The Wii U also apparently gets its downloadable version of Terraria, with the physical version to follow in roughly two weeks.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix received its full North American debut today, and it's available for download right now.
The rhythm collection will be available only on the eShop for $29.99 US / $42.29 Canadian. No European release details are available. A demo will also be available on the eShop.

It's been three (thousand) years...
The long wait has about three months to go for Dragon Quest VII.
The remake of the 2001 PS1 title for 3DS will release in North America on September 16 according to updated information submitted by Nintendo following the game's E3 stream.
A long demanded remake, SquareEnix credited fan demand and petitions for the game's localization, including all of the game's party chat.

If you're not lucky, you can be charitable and get in early.
Capcom has announced the date for the Monster Hunter Generations demo, but you may be able to jump the queue.
The demo will go live for all users in the eShop on June 30, however "select 3DS users" will receive two demo codes by email that allow for early access. Another option for getting the demo early comes through Humble Bundle, as the site's E3 2016 Digital Ticket will contain an early code for anyone who gets in at the US$4 tier.

The producer/director is a RPG veteran.
Nintendo's new action RPG for 3DS has been announced, and it's from the veteran developers at Grezzo.
Ever Oasis is a game set in a barren desert that involves creating an oasis and fighting into dungeons to protect the village. During the Treehouse Live presentation, a three-member party was shown for dungeon exploration.

The further adventures of Boxboy (or Boxgirl) are coming to North America.
Nintendo's Facebook has confirmed in today's Treehouse Live advertisement that Boxboy: Another Box will be released as BOXBOXBOY. No release date was given, but the game will be shown on today's Treehouse Live.
As well, Nintendo's schedule is promising that the new RPG game will be shown at 1:50 Eastern / 10:50 Pacific and it is a "action/adventure/RPG".

Tomorrow's Treehouse Live will get a little bit bigger, including yet another 3DS RPG.
A recap of today's events included a note about tomorrow's Treehouse Live that confirmed Rhythm Heaven Megamix and Yo-Kai Watch 2 would be on the stream, but also included at the end:

The limited-time missions give MyNintendo members an easy way to grab a couple more platinum points.
Nintendo has added three new limited-time missions to their MyNintendo rewards program to allow players to earn more Platinum Points just for doing things on their E3 website.
There are three new missions, and by finding the named hidden icons on e3.nintendo.com MyNintendo members can bag another 60 Platinum Points.
