In an interview with Time Magazine, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that the April 22 release will feature plenty of options for adjusting the game's difficulty. Among the options will be a challenge mode for experienced players where the Arwing takes/deals more damage, as well as a "invincibility" option for newcomers.

It’s a Mii, not Mario.
Miitomo, Nintendo’s first mobile game, will launch on March 17 in Japan, according to a tweet from Nintendo.
Preregistion is still open at the Miitomo website and will earn My Nintendo Platinum Points for anyone with a Nintendo Account. Miitomo’s English website still lists a March release.

Studio cites changing industry in desire to go out with a bang
After over 15 years of game development, Two Tribes will be going out with RIVE.
A post on the company's website yesterday confirmed that the studio would close following the release of the eShop title, which is currently slated for September of this year. The studio will continue to support existing games, but will not produce any new titles.

A day of telling destiny to get knotted, price drops and Mario.
Probably the biggest release of the week in terms of content for North America is the 3rd path for Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. (Not to be confused with Capcom’s Resident Evil: Revelaitons.) The final portion of the massively popular RPG answers a whole bunch of spoilery questions and basically makes it so that strategy RPG fans will be playing this bad boy until June’s Tokyo Mirage Sessions (sharp)FE.

This would really be something if it wasn't for the region locks.
Import shoppers now have a new source for Japanese titles - Amazon Japan.
Previously, the Japanese branch of the retail giant would only allow domestic shipment of video games, but a policy change has allowed for international shoppers to take advantage of the site's selection. Currently, only items sold directly by Amazon Japan are eligible.

Scheduled to open for Mario and Sonic's appearance in four years.
Universal Studios has announced ambitious plans for their Japanese park's Nintendo exhibit.
The Nintendo attraction is slated to open in 2020, timed to coincide with Tokyo's hosting of the Summer Olympics. Universal is anticipating spending roughly 40bn yen (about US$350m at current market rates) on the project.

Evidence is appearing that points to a potential release of a Twilight Princess-themed Picross title as a My Nintendo reward.
German developer Cellenseres first located icons for a Twilight Princess Picross, then managed to obtain the game's title screen on March 4. Listings for the title are on Nintendo servers in North America and Europe (may have to allow a certificate temporarily).

A long teased indie darling comes to Nintendo consoles.
After several false starts, Super Meat Boy is finally coming to Wii U.
The independent hit was revealed during the European Nintendo Direct as part of an indie reel. Known for its brutal difficulty, the game was originally slated to hit the Wii but was locked out due to WiiWare's file size limits.

Europe and Australia have a little longer to wait for Fire Emblem Fates.
The game will release on May 20 (Europe)/21 (Australia) and as with North America, there will be a special edition and a themed 3DS.
The special edition will include a poster, a steelbook case, and a special card with all three paths (Birthright, Conquest, Revelation), while the themed hardware is the same New 3DSXL design that recently released in North America.

An MMO-style party in the Metroid world.
The Nintendo Direct featured an extended look at the upcoming Metroid Prime: Federation Force, including strong words from the producer of the Metroid Prime series.
Tanabe has wanted to tell this story for a decade, even going back to the DSi. "Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a game that absolutely belongs in the Metroid Universe," Tanabe said during today's Direct. "That I promise."
