Huh, very cool. They certainly make the best.
It's funny that Melee manages to be on the last after several years and being rated Teen. Impressive.

Problem is people are going to use this to add to the mentality that GC is a "kids console"

Hello all, this is my first post. Thats kinda big for me considering how long i've been visiting this site. I found this news article very compelling though. I used to work at a Gamecrazy a little over 2 years ago and I was only there a few months till I found a better job. From the very beginning, I could tell something was different about this place. I live in the Socal area so maybe it only applies to my area. I was interviewed by the regional manager, he asked what my favorite system was and I said Gamecube. He then asked me if owned an Xbox, i lied and said yes. He then proceeded to ask me about Halo, we spent the rest of the interview talking about how great Halo is. So I got the job. From that I began to notice why this place smelled a little fishy. From the big Green X in the middle of Gamecrazy, to the way when you first walk in the store the color motif is green, to how the first games you see are xbox software, and at the other end of the store is the gamecube software. From the very beginning our managers let us know, "we push the xbox console and its software over all other systems". I know this is quite a bold statement, but its true. Anytime we were seen selling a system over the xbox, we werent scolded, but in a subtle way reminded that we should sell the xbox. This setup went for all other stores in the area. This was over 2 years ago so maybe things have changed a bit, but this is honestly the way it was. This isnt just some fanboy rant. I am a very happy owner of an xbox now with abox live and a ps2 which coincidently is being repaired by Sony at the moment because of disk read errors. In closing, I love this site! and Resident Evil 4 rocks!!1

Im going to trust you in what you said, because Its not really surprising that microsoft or even sony love to encourage the idea of the GC being a kids console. Its a great market idea despite the irony it has which is really amusing, since games are basically aimed at people underaged. If someone really believes that the majority of people that play halo 2 or GTA are adults they are delusional.

EDIT: I finally understood from where the "I LOVE HALO 2" thing comes from, LOL

That isn't a problem at all.

A kid, I am not.

If MonkeyMan is right, that might make conspiracy theorists suspect Microsoft using dirty tactics to keep people away from Resident Evil 4...

I'm surprised Kingdom Hearts made the list. Sure it has Disney characters, but it doesn't feel like a family-type of game. Or maybe I'm confusing family-friendly with games meant to be played with the family or something. With Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts on the list, that can't be too bad of a thing, and only the truly stupid think a game with Mario would be bad.

That statement alone makes me want to go the nearest 'Crazy store and start sampling. Since the 'Cube is devoid of Demo discs, I usually have to go on faith that the my next purchase is worthy of my cash.

Just about all those games are high caliber quality, not just 'for kids' titles. I'd rather have the 'Cube described as an 'All ages' system as opposed to TeH tiku tiku tiku! !

It's really nice to see a list designed to encourage family-orientated gaming that doesn't suck. Biased towards Nintendo or not, this is the sort of thing that will actually help gaming's image, as opposeed to a media storm sweeping GTA3's sales far into the sky.
