Handheld gamers don't seem to mind the $50 price point.

Activision announced that Guitar Hero: On Tour has sold over 300,000 units in North America since its recent release, making it Activision's top-selling DS game by a landslide. In fact, On Tour is among the top 5 releases for any console in the company's history, despite being the most expensive DS game on the market (thanks to the included Guitar Grip peripheral). Rock on, gamers!

Talkback

Please don't tell Square-Enix. It'll encourage them to raise their DS prices even more.

Great news, especially since Vicarious Visions put alot of work into the game and making it accessible for handheld gamers. Glad to see it is paying off for them and will hopefully lead to more risk taking. While I haven't played my copy yet, the game is well packaged and "looks" like a $50 package.

WOW I guess demand was just waiting for something like this. Luke Warm reviews be damned people want Guitar Hero on Nintendo consoles and they don't care which ones.

Well most of those reviews didn't have much to complain about when it comes to the quality and polish of the game, they mainly boiled down to complaints about a, arguably, limited soundtrack and mixed feelings on the Grip device (though none have said it is bad).

If S/E had released Arkanoid DS with the Paddle Controller, I would have paid $50 for it. :(
