We didn't forget you!

The long rumored and heavily anticipated follow up to 2017's Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was formally announced during today's Nintendo Direct. Set in a new region with a new cast of characters, the game will bridge the gap between the first two mainline Xenoblade titles. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set to release in September of 2022.

That looks great.  Nice to see they listened to the complaints of Xenoblade 2 and really toned down the anime fanservice.  It was pretty hard to take the story of Xenoblade 2 serious when 95% of its female characters look like porn stars and half the time it's either focusing it's camera on their breast or ass.  I mean was I suppose to be sad when watching a certain characters funeral when the game literally wants me to be staring at someones ass during the cutscene instead.

Now I'm sure Monolith Soft will still keep some skimpy outfits in their since they can't help themselves, but at least with the main cast looking respectable, the story should hopefully be more serious this time as well, instead of trying to be like a shitty anime fanservice tier story to match the crappy anime fanservice designs of the characters.

I recently played Xenoblade 2 for the first time just a few months ago so the game is still very fresh in my mind.  I really loved the gameplay, but damn was the story and characters pretty much garbage until the very end when some interesting things finally happened, but then the game ends shortly after.  So this gives me hope the characters and story will be much better this time.

Well...damn. I'm probably going to have to force myself to play through the rest of Xenoblade 2 (+Torna) this year, then. I really didn't want to go back to that game the way it was going.

Just please...Monolith...don't bring back the Blade System. We don't need another round of Gacha Chronicles.

Just as the prophecy by Khan of Fanbyte fortold!

I haven't played through Future Connected on the Xenoblade 1 remake, so seeing the High Entia in this new world is wild and has my mind racng.

One of my predictions for the year (though a pretty obvious one). I might pick this up but I can only handle about 1 or 2 long RPGs per year and I am waist deep in SMT 5 right now. Maybe I will just go back and play some more Chronicles X  ???

In recent times I've had trouble finding the time and motivation for huge games, so I haven't even started Xenoblade 2 or its expansion. I kind of wanted to see Monolithsoft tackle something different or new, but I guess they gotta stick with their forte.
