Do findings suggest that console owners aren't interested in the Internet?

Well that's what seemd to be the overall response from a new survey conducted by the IDC. According to the survey, which was conducted amongst 350 U.S households, only 30% of console owners would be interested in using their consoles for general internet purposes. Out of the thirty percent who said yes, roughly half of them would be interested in using the internet for downloading games and/or other gaming opportunities. Funnily enough, when surveying PC and non-PC owners the interest in the Internet was similar with 32% and 25% of the people showing interest respectively.

Could the current push for online console's be counter-productive to the general publics stance on the isssue? Possibly. Does a survey of 350 households really reflect the millions of console owner's feelings? Wait and see if online console's really take off.
