So lay it on the table ya'll, who's gonna win today?

My picks are as follows:
Vikes over the Saints
Colts over the Jets

Though I would like to see the Jets smack the Colts, and as for the other game, I really don't care who wins.  On the one hand, I want the Vikings to loose since I hate the Packers and Vikings.  But on the other hand, I hate the Packers more than the Vikings and it would be pretty funny to watch all those Packer fans cry themselves to sleep as their former hero takes their bitter rival to the promise land.

So yeah, should be an interesting day.

Gonna go with the Vikings and Jets to win their respective games.
Edit:The teams I picked lossed. Such a heartbreaker for the Vikings.

I was right in both games today which means I'm tied for first place in my pool. If I get the Super Bowl right I've got a shot at winning a hundred wing-wangs.

I've called the Saints going to the superbowl since the very first game. I've called the Colts going to the superbowl since the third game.

Since I bet on the Saints winning the superbowl so early (20-1 odds), I have a chance to win a G and see my favorite team win a SuperBowl for the first time. It's like a dream come true.

Too bad the Colts are going to destroy them. Oh well, at least you're only out $50. Anyway, it will be a great game at least, both #1 teams playing and all. I think just about everyone realized this was going to be the Super Bowl matchup about 4 months ago.

I can easily see the Saints beating the favored Colts.  If Sanchez and Edwards were able to make some big, easy plays, I don't really see any reason why Brees and his far more explosive weapons won't do the same.  In addition, the Saints battered Farve, a QB who is more mobile than Manning.  And speaking of, anyone see Manning just dive to the ground like a baby before getting sacked in the 1st quarter of last weeks game?  Well, if that scared him, it'll only get worse.

At the end of the day, I think the Saints will come out on top with Manning still searching for his first legitimate Super Bowl win (thats right, I said first.  Rex Grossman forfeited the 07' game to Manny, any opposing team would have won that day).

It's nice to have a Superbowl between clearly the top two teams in the league.  I sounds like the most predictable match-up but it isn't.  There's usually some playoff upset and some team that has no business doing as well as it does messes the whole thing up.  Case in the point the Jets this year.

I predict the Colts since their losses were largely because they rested their starters while the Saints lost at least one game legitimately with their best players playing.  Manning just seems unbeatable this year.  I would somewhat like the Saints to win since they never have.  It sucks when your team has never won the big one (being from the Pacific Northwest I'm quite familiar with this).

The "real" Superbowl that year was between New England and Indy anyway and the Colts won.  It isn't like they faced creampuffs the whole time.  Manning had to get to the Superbowl in the first place to face Grossman.  It's very rare for a team to win a championship without going through at least ONE decent team on the way there.

Very true, and a good point, as the AFC/NFC Champ games are usually the best day of the year, its like getting two Super Bowls.  But still, its dissapointing that Peyton's final game was soooo easy.  He should have had to at least face someone like the Giants with the potential to beat them.  Don't get me wrong, the Bears had a lot of talent that year with Hester returning punts as their only offense, and some of the best D in the league.  But putting a guy like Rex behind center is suicide.  As a Bears fan, I said before that game that Lovie should be fired for going with Rex and 3 years later after missing the playoffs every year, its now clear more than ever Love should be canned.  Has anyone followed their search for offensive and defensive cordinators?  The Bears have had 7-8 guys turn them down already.  Unprecedented.  Hue Jackson just turned them down to go to Oakland.  Thats right, Oakland!  Nobody wants to work for that poop stick of a coach.  Same goes for their GM.

Oh well, at least Josh McDumbials isn't our coach.

Well, if the Saints win and the total points scored is 69 or more I win my pool and get 100 wingwangs. A Saints victory in a high-scoring shootout is exactly the game I would have wanted to see regardless of the pool, so I'm glad to be able to root for that.

I'm actually going to say Saints over the Colts today.  Freeny is just being a little baby, and I think Peyton has the coaching edge over the guy babysitting for Dungy.  On top of that, I think Sharper is going to be an animal in the secondary with a couple picks, maybe one back to the house.

I don't think Manning will throw a single interception. The Saints are ranked #26 in pass defense, and #21 in rushing defense.

Well the Saints won. The onside kick at the start of the 3rd quarter was what I think helped the Saints win it. Manning was out of the offense for a while.
Congratulations Saints!

What is an on side kick and why does everyone keep talking about it? It sounds illegal.

Team Kim beat Team Kendra!!!

Hope Hank doesn't get traded again since he fucked up that onside kick.

On side kick: A kick that is intentionally done short and made to bounce in an attempt for the kicking team to recover the ball. It must go at least 10 yards or touch a member of the opposing team before the kicking team can touch the ball.

Hank Basket (Colts), the newly wed husband of Kendra (Playmate and ex-GF of Hugh Hefner) bounced the pass off his helmet and right into the hand of the kicking team (Saints). That was the beginning of all things bad for the Colts as that recovery lead to a touch down drive.

I wouldn't call it epic, but then again, I was watching it on my DVR about minutes delayed, and when the game ended and the recording stopped, I went from 4:50 left in the 4th quarter (with Indy looking like they were about to score after 3 straight first downs) to Mark Hammil holding the Lombardi Trophy. It was epic I guess, EPIC FAIL.

Great game!  My favorite in the last few years. It wasn't as close as the two before it but it was great to see the Saints play hard and smart all game and really break Manning open right when it mattered most.

I wouldn't say the Saints beat the Colts as much as the Colts beat the Colts. They dropped a lot of *perfect* passes.

Bullshit. If it wasn't for that Tracy Porter pick or the onside kick, it would have been a much different game.

Momentum is very powerful in a game like this. The on side kick is where it started to go wrong the the Colts even though they retaliated with their own touchdown. They never crushed the momentum of the of the Saints with a big play of their own. The interception was just them keeping the Colts from even getting their feet underneath themselves.
That was the end.
