I just acquired an extra Mutton Plucks so my administration will be ready for multiplayer on DAY ONE

SAME HERE.

I just obtained Lotion Puss, with no games to apply it to, yet.

And whoever was demonstrating it (the "proffesional") also used the term "staycation" which i know someone else mentioned the same thing in this very thread..

Me believes staycation was coined during economic down times, which is a vacation that the ones stay at home.

Me believes staycation was coined during economic down times, which is a vacation that the ones stay at home.

If this was referring to my previous post, i didn't mean to say one of our forum members coined the term "staycation," I've actually heard it long before it was uttered here. The reason i brought it its relevance up, was that seeing it advertised as such is a good way to sell this game to soccer-mom types who, in this economic climate, would feel the safer purchase is a $50 game the whole family can enjoy at home over a trip to an actual resort getaway where they may or may not do all the activities included within the game.

Now I'm not sure if the person demonstrating the game to the GMA cast was a Nintendo rep or not, but either way.. throwing that word in there is good advertising. Whoever used the term in this thread was exactly right when they said it.

A full casino is a must. You've got to get soccer moms on staycation hooked on Wii somehow

Dasmos' post makes me sad. Any further impressions for us?

Aussie sports resort owner here.  I picked it up on 2 days ago.  It is pretty awesome.  Having a ball with it.  Controls are very nice. I was pleasantly surprised with the swordplay.  All the games work quite well.  Ping Pong is quite appealing too.  Time is short so I can't go into detail.  All in all you will enjoy it.  I haven't played multi player yet.

Not get me wrong it's not a bad game, it's just the original is leagues ahead. The controls work well and most of the games are fun (canoeing is ****), but the "multiplayer" isn't as god as Wii Sports. It's more of a take-in-turn type of multiplayer than a real 4-in-1 experience (e.g. there's absolutely nothing that comes close to being as good as Wii Tennis.)

It's fun and I'll definitely bust it out when friends come over, it's just not as good as it could have been and it's not as impressive as Wii Sports.

Ok I guess I can see them not being quite as engaging as tennis but what about the side games?

Quoting this in preparation for tomorrow:

I'll summarize:

Quote
Dohta:I remember you asking us at the time: “Look, are you really sure you can make it?" (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:And you said: “We’ll pull out all the stops!” (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Shimamura:You could say that! (laughs)

Quote
Sato:Yes, well… I felt that my expectations may have been a little bit excessive… (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Shimamura:And that’s when we all found ourselves saying: "You can make it stop! You can make it stop!" (laughs)

Quote
Yama****a:We were saying: "Look, you can make it stop at the last second!” (laughs)

Quote
Shimamura:That’s exactly what we thought: “What are we going to do with this?” (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:Licensing an island! (laughs)

Quote
Shimamura:Well, I was really taken aback. In fact, I was at a loss for words! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:Well, that's not surprising considering you’d just heard someone suggest turning an island into a character and then licensing it out! (laughs)

Quote
Shimamura:Absolutely! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Yama****a:You could of course also stop the sword just before making the strike! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:They made each of the mini-games end within five seconds! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Yama****a:At first, I really thought it would be impossible, but I knew that if anyone could do something about it, it would be Ota-san. And indeed it turned out that he managed to do something! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Miyamoto:I’m afraid we can’t reveal just how the magic works! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:So without knowing how you'd actually go about it, you just went ahead and said "Let’s have 1000 opponents!" (laughs)

Quote
Yama****a:Right. We thought that the more opponents we had, the better! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Yama****a:Yes, that’s true. (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:You had already used them all! (laughs)

Quote
Yama****a:Right, we had used them all! (laughs)

Quote
Sato:We would say things like: “This really has that ‘resort feel’!” (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:That phrase “resort feel” really reminds me of the way the team who developed Zelda referred to that “Zelda-esque” quality. (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:I’m not sure it’s such a good idea to confuse onsen and tropical resorts! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:The fact that the developer of the game is able to describe the rallies using terms like that certainly convinces me that you’ve nailed it! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:Yes, I did it! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Miyamoto:Have I really? (laughs)

Quote
Shimamura:(laughs) I can remember that wakeboarding has been a goal of yours for the last ten years and doing an aerial flyover has been a goal for twenty years.

Quote
Yama****a:It’s 3000 points! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Shimamura:Right after getting back to Japan, he suddenly said: “You know we’re including golf now.” Apparently he’d stated in an interview that this time round golf shots would be determined by the backswing, even though at that time a golf game didn't exist in any shape or form! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:It’s a trick he often uses! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Shimamura:That’s because of the “18 Hole Incident”. (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:“The 18 Hole Incident”? Tell us about that! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:That’s another well-worn technique! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Miyamoto:We won ourselves some extra time while things were left to stew in the pressure cooker! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:Read the previous Iwata Asks interview and all will become clear! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:Fortunately? It certainly wasn’t a fortunate development from a business perspective! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:I bet you sounded really happy when you shouted it! (laughs)

Quote
Miyamoto:I really did shout! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:You think you’re approaching the finish line when someone shouts "You guys got a lucky break!" (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:Taking the feelings of the team working on the game who believe that the finish line is just up ahead into consideration, I don’t know if that can be perceived as being entirely a positive thing! (laughs)

Quote
Yama****a:Well, it’s not something that a member of the team would have said. Of course it was... (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughs)

Quote
Iwata:Now I get it… (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:(laughs)

Quote
Iwata:That’s one way of saving time! (laughs)

Quote
Yama****a:That’s good to hear! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:Really? There was more? (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:And that someone was Miyamoto-san once again! (laughs)

Quote
Miyamoto:If you use this chance to get familiar with the island in advance, you’ll enjoy the next game even more! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:(laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Shimamura:He'll read it and we'll be found out! (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:I see – “advice”. (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:He doesn’t pull any punches, does he? (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:(laughs)

Quote
Iwata:The dreaded progress report! (laughs)

Quote
Shimamura:“Dreaded” is exactly the right word! (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:He makes you stand? (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Yama****a:Yes, he certainly does. (laughs)

Quote
Iwata:After you “were put through this”… (laughs)

Quote
Shimamura:If you looked at the screen, you could see that he wasn’t able to hold it steady at all. I’d never seen anyone shaking so bad before when playing the game so I said: “You’re shaking!” He replied: ”It’s nerves!” (laughs)

Quote
All:(laughter)

Quote
Iwata:(laughs) So did he get through that nerve-wracking presentation without Miyamoto-san giving him the thumbs down?

Review Post.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/100/1004395p1.html
They gave it a 7.7
Quote
7.0    Presentation
Good enough doesn't feel good enough in this sequel. You've got a nice features list in all 12 challenges, but once again Nintendo doesn't go above and beyond.
8.5    Graphics
Believe it or not, the game is one of the better looking Wii titles. Simple art style? Sure. But the visuals are pulling next-gen effects like water physics and depth of focus, all at 60 FPS.
8.0    Sound
Clean, happy, up-beat soundtrack, complete with the same announcer from the first game.
8.0    Gameplay
Some games work better than others, but the real champs here are Swordplay, Table Tennis, Archery, and Frisbee.
7.5    Lasting Appeal
It's an evergreen title that will keep you coming back, but Nintendo could have done so much more (online?) to keep players' interests.
7.7
Good    OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

Mine Gamestop wasn't having one. I am not picking this up right away because if I want to play I can go across the street and play my neighbors import copy. I will buy it soon but my money is tight until the 1st when I get paid again. I will pick it up next week probably.

I've been playing the review copy for four days now. Expect a full review before the game actually launches. I've also had the good lunch of having my in-laws (who loved Wii Sports) up to play with me. We all love it. This is what Wii Sports should've been.
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

i was the first person at gamestop to reserve it, and the first person to pick it up today.  ;D

They guy was cool and gave me some EA stickers to place over the wiimote. They are black and I like them.

I just registered the game at club nintendo and got a clean 80 points. ( I intended to buy and doing the survey ) ok i'm about to play for first time.
I'm going to play for a little while than go to church, than go to my brothers house and play multiplayer all day with him. So maybe impressions later tonight
