They were talking about that in the talkback thread.

Sword fighting, Archery and also frisbee to test controls for the boomerang.

and to settle that frisbee throw vs boomerang throw debate, you can throw a frisbee cross body or side arm, but its the same basic motion only more over the shoulder for a boomerang.

Can you imagine how Epic Zelda would be having to actually do the motions?  I mean Zelda already makes you feel badass playing the game...but being badass in the game but actually doing the movements can make you feel even more badass...and will be a reason for lockon gaming to always be present in Zelda.

I am fascinated that Miyamoto really likes Wuhu Island and wants to make it a character in multiple games.

I am as well, but he's not the only dev to think like that..

I remember reading something, i believe it was one of those Iwata Asks interviews with Mr. Itoi (Earthbound) where one of them mentioned wanting to make a game that was less of a "road movie" like Earthbound was. What they meant was, instead of making a game (rpg in this case) where you move from town to town and leaving all those people behind, you spend the majority of your time in one place getting to know and help out those same faces, yet some would leave and new ones would come in. It turned into Animal Crossing now that i think about it.

Though Miyamotos idea of the island itself being a "character" is far more intriguing, cuz you dont know what kinda crazy stuff he has in his head!

WuHu island already retains the shape of Delfinio Island's dolphin with the exception that WuHu is mirrored and the dolphin's head was chomped off by a kraken.

Wu Sports Resort: compatible with Wu.

So Miyamoto's concept of a new IP means creating an overworld to recycle over and over?

Maybe Nintendo will actually buy an island, name it Wuhu Island, and build The Mushroom Kingdom amusement park for all to visit.

I'm just as hyped for this as anyone, but what I want to know is why is this game, the game that is made for M+, is coming out more than a month after M+.  EA & SEGA  must be really happy that they get to headline with the new Peripheral and hopefully have struck some sort of deal for a real 3rd party effort in the near future.

Perhaps its to give those games a shot.

If you saw Wiisports Resort next to Tiger Woods on the shelf, and both came with Motion+ what do you think would run thru your head? Most people would think "hm.. heres a nintendo made game, so they're sure to nail the controls and its Motion+ exclusive.. and here's a 3rd party game that might not be as good.."

Eh?

I figured that's the reason, but what is Nintendo getting in return? you know, other than a Tennis Exclusive and the Definitive TW to date?

I'm just hoping that since Nintendo decided not to announce so much stuff this year, that they really are planning this huge blockbuster 2010 in cooperation with the various 3rd parties.

But the real questionj is, did Nintendo delay WSR to allow GST & TW10 to shine with M+ support or did they release M+ early to accommodate 3rd party efforts? Because we all know that as soon as it was known that GST & TW10 were getting a M+ bundle, VT2009 was delayed to launch at the same time as those games.

I am very excited for this game. I reserved it because it would be a fun party game, but more and more I hear I want it for myself.

It is sad that Nintendo didn't include online. I wonder if LAG would be an issue, they seem to make this game really full featured when they could have gotten away with much less.

That's an interesting point. This does seem to make WiiSports literally look like a demo in comparison.

Hm.. with how interested some of our forumers are with Tiger Woods (with M+) i think its a safe bet to say that even if Nintendo didn't really care about giving 3rd parties a leg up when it comes to sale of their own M+ enabled game, they DO care about M+'s market penetration.

If TW comes bundled in with M+ now, a gamer will likely buy it (the bundle over the standalone game because its the better value) and then a month from now when they see WiiSports Resort on store shelves, also with M+, thats one gamer with 2+ for their possible 4 wiimotes.

Obviously the more M+'s out in the wild the better, and not just for Nintendo (as a dev) themselves. This add-on to the remote isn't something like the balance board where only a handful of games can make use of it, all future wii games can make use of it beacuse it attaches to the main controller which everyone has at least one of, so the more the better. 3rd parties won't have much of an excuse to not make their future titles not only M+ exclusive, but include multiplayer as well. Look at Red Steel 2 and its lack of 4 player death match that the original had.

If everyone gets M+, nintendo will also end up making the next Zelda a M+ exclusive title as well, and thats win-win for gamers!

What's the word on the multiplayer? How many events are 4-player, how many are simultaneous, and how many are pass-the-controller?
Pass-the-controller would be ideal since I doubt very many people are going to get four of these accessories right off the bat.

I agree with most needing pass-the-remote multiplayer, but they need to have at least one that supports or requires 4 players simultaneously with M+. They had tennis in WiiSports. Do we know how many players are supported in the Wave Race game?
