Konami also made the best DDR games this generation on Wii, well except the disney one haha. Konami has showed decent Wii support, Capcom on the other hand is a little disappointing. I'm still waiting for Capcom to bring over Sengoku Basara 2(Devil Kings 2) to America on Wii(The Wii version has 2 and the expansion disc in Japan), but looks like that won't be happening.

Castlevania (Which while not terrible is still barely above average. Their best games are PES, Kororinpa 1/2, Elebits and um the Dance Dance games.

Capcom has released ONE average game that was Dead Rising. The rest have been above average of really good.

:/ I actually like Castlevania Judgement but then again I also like fighting games made by Eighting in general. Also technically Konami only distributes Hudson retail games. Also I think we should convince Kairon to do a video blog of him playing DDR Disney.

I like CV: Judgment as well but I would not call it an high quality title either.

It sounds like the guys at Konami saw everybody creaming themselves over Winter and decided they wanted a piece of the pie.

But well, at least they were trying instead of just shoving some PSP ports our way.

Ehh, I would have preferred a Dracula X Chronicles port, if only to never have witnessed Judgment's ultra cheap Dracula (maybe not SNK boss territory, but still crazy cheap). Then again, I just bought Dracula X Chronicles from Gamestop "new" (aka opened-Gamestop-new) for $5 and I don't even have a PSP yet.

Anyway, I'm at least mildly interested in Shattered Memories seeing as its the first true remake on the Wii. It loses points for being also on PS2/PSP, despite the "Wii as the lead platform" talk. A remake is still a remake and there's no escaping the fact that this isn't entirely new, but I have to give Konami some credit for supposedly reworking the game and going beyond a graphics overhaul.
I've always been curious about Haunting Ground.
No better time than now to check it out seeing as it's dirt cheap at your local used game shop (it was like $15 roughly 2 years ago when I bought it). Keep in mind that Fiona exists only to jiggle her boobies whenever she makes even the slightest of movements and she's pathetically helpless and dumb. Watching her freak out gets old fast, especially since she does so quite often. The no attacking thing worked but didn't work. It adds to the atmosphere, I guess, but is oh so frustrating. The least Fiona could do is attempt, attempt to kick a shin or crotch when she encounters an enemy.... all 4 of them.

I'm curious to see how Konami handles this dynamic in Shattered Memories. If Harry is annoyingly helpless, I don't think I can handle that for a whole game. Characters don't need to be Dante with twirling blades and unlimited ammo, but there comes a point when characters can become too helpless and that certainly detracts from the game.

Ashley in RE4 was a good balance I think. She couldn't shoot or punch, but she could shove enemies and setup fire traps for them.

Box them in then throw oil lanterns at them.  And a certain number of lanterns would manage to kill one Illuminado.

WHERE THE FHUK HAVE YOU BEEN, HERMANO

Ashley can throw those brass lanterns lying around the long study room to slow down the the enemies, so it's not all just running away with zero defense.  Crafty players will figure out a sequence to trap the enemies behind the falling gate.

OH! you mean that one section of the game where you take control of just Ashley.. I thought you meant something more along the lines of using both your characters (you as Leon & cpu as Ashley) in conjunction to set up such traps. I know i'm a cautious player (when she's following me) but geez i knew i couldn't of missed something that woulda made the game easier.

My mistake.

I have to address this part, to start after reading everything about the game I am not sure how they are going to get it on PS2/PSP without cutting out stuff or ruining the controls. This IS a game that looks like it was built from the ground up on Wii, not only visually but its control scheme as well. There WILL be sacrifices to port it to PS2/PSP so I don't see how this should be a fear. In regards to it being a remake, that is false, it is more of a re imagining because it shares little with the original game besides the story. It is not like any remake I've seen. In fact it is more of a reboot of the franchise that tries to put it on a FRESH, INNOVATIVE track again.

That is definitely one feature that is Wii centric. It should be interesting how they do it. My guess is that the game will similar to what we see with Xbox 360/PS3 downports to Wii where many features are axed.

Why even bother associating it with the original Silent Hill in the first place? Why not just make an entirely new game? It's a remake. It's a new version of an older game. I'm not buying into all those buzzwords Konami is throwing around. In the end, it's still a remake though (once again) I openly acknowledge that Konami has gone above what many companies have done with their remakes.

Also, I was questioning the existence of the PS2/PSP versions. Clearly, they exist to make Konami more money. My point, rather, is that if those versions are inferior to the Wii version, which they likely will be if the game is made specifically with the Wii in mind, then they aren't worth making. Making a game for 3 vastly different platforms dilutes its focus and resources. The ideal scenario would be one version on the Wii built specifically for the Wii with Climax Studios' undivided attention. Is it really too hard to make a Wii exclusive game?

its clear that the PS2/P versions exist only so if the game bombs on Wii they can say "mature/core games don't sell on nintendo systems" meanwhil the inferior version will most likely offer some incentive to pick those up over the wii (think preorder bonuses or exclusive content). That way they'll feel justified in not making a proper Castlevania game on Wii.

The reason why a PSP/PS2 version exists is the reason why any game is multiplatform. It spreads the risk around, nothing more, nothing less. Also I wonder, have you played the first Silent Hill? Because beyond story this is NOTHING like it right down to the core gameplay mechanic which involves ZERO fighting.

Yeah reimagining or reboot would be better terms. Basically this game is saying "We realize the SH series has been in a rut, let's give it a fresh new start". It is cleaning the slate without dumping everything that made Silent Hill, Silent Hill.
