Ehh, I would have preferred a Dracula X Chronicles port, if only to never have witnessed Judgment's ultra cheap Dracula (maybe not SNK boss territory, but still crazy cheap). Then again, I just bought Dracula X Chronicles from Gamestop "new" (aka opened-Gamestop-new) for $5 and I don't even have a PSP yet.
Anyway, I'm at least mildly interested in Shattered Memories seeing as its the first true remake on the Wii. It loses points for being also on PS2/PSP, despite the "Wii as the lead platform" talk. A remake is still a remake and there's no escaping the fact that this isn't entirely new, but I have to give Konami some credit for supposedly reworking the game and going beyond a graphics overhaul.
I've always been curious about Haunting Ground.
No better time than now to check it out seeing as it's dirt cheap at your local used game shop (it was like $15 roughly 2 years ago when I bought it). Keep in mind that Fiona exists only to jiggle her boobies whenever she makes even the slightest of movements and she's pathetically helpless and dumb. Watching her freak out gets old fast, especially since she does so quite often. The no attacking thing worked but didn't work. It adds to the atmosphere, I guess, but is oh so frustrating. The least Fiona could do is attempt,
attempt to kick a shin or crotch when she encounters an enemy.... all 4 of them.
I'm curious to see how Konami handles this dynamic in Shattered Memories. If Harry is annoyingly helpless, I don't think I can handle that for a whole game. Characters don't need to be Dante with twirling blades and unlimited ammo, but there comes a point when characters can become too helpless and that certainly detracts from the game.
