Finished!

The twist was awesome, as much as I would like to replay I don't have the time, not with my backlog, I'll probably revisit the game some time in the future, but answering random questions to get all endings doesn't seem much fun. I'm wondering something though, Towards the end when Cybil pulls you from the lake and tells you you are dead I got her to say that she was just going back to the station, but en every movie I've seen from all the endings, she says shes quitting, and no one mentions this as a possibility in any faq or video I've seen, did I imagine all that?

I got it on Friday, that's the day it came out here. finished it the same day, took 5:30 according to the Wii's stats. I didn't find it scary but loved it anyway.

I have the game, and only played it for an hour, so far it's creeping me out. Glad its only 5 or so hours, I can't keep on playing games like this. Graphics arent to bad, love the flash light aspect to it all.

This reminds me that I never finished the game. I think I'm close to the end but we'll see. I'm going to make a point of playing some more my next day off.

I spent 10 hrs the first time, absorbing the atmosphere and all the details (do this, Caterkiller).  My 2nd and 3rd plays were about 2 hrs each, skipping the common story bits, only paying attention to the altered cutscenes.

I wasn't perfectly thorough I believe but the game still called me obsessive-compulsive. Just play at whatever pace comes naturally. Still, the game deserves to be finished and from the sounds of it the developer designed it to make sure people do. Maybe not the best design for a challenging/scary game (I'm not scared by enemies that are so easy to throw off, I only got beaten in what seemed to be a supposed-to-lose sequence) but hey, it's more about the story anyway.

I can't believe people took less than 8 hours the first playthrough, I zoomed everything and called every single number possible. I've read that even the responses of the phone numbers are different depending of your psychological profile, so it's not just the cutscenes you should look out for differences.

the game called me possibly lousy in bed :(

Just a guess, but maybe it's because you were all over the place and lacked focus on the things that count. Also the game could probably tell it was your first time and it didn't help that you were crying through most of it. :P

I looked at the stuff I saw but at some point I couldn't be bothered to call every random number anymore, I just went for the ones that looked interesting.

Me too though since I'm generally nerdy that may just be part of the package deal.

I want to absorb the atmosphere, but I seriously get afraid playing. I can't believe it either. Went through all the Resident Evils just fine, and Eternal Darkness, though that one wasnt that scary. But I think because of that blasted movie along with my anticipation is making more afraid than I need to be.  Chainsaw weilding maniac? no sweat! Ghosts and spirits noooooo spank you!

Good reason to absorb everything.  Find all the things that scary to you.  Explore the edges of your mind.

I still get freaked out even though I know the monsters won't get me when there is no ice.

Me too.

Also I'm glad there aren't many "jump" moments, those are the worst kind of scares, and really dumb, people who don't jump at those aren't brave, they just lack a basic nervous system :P Those parts when your flashlight starts flickering while you approach something and begin to hear the weird sounds are great, the slowly create a very tense atmosphere.

Those parts always give me goosebumps...I'm getting them now just thinking about those moments.

No, that's the dialogue I got my first two times. I love how this game offers a ton of minute differences on each playthrough: I don't think I could ever perfectly replicate any of my playthroughs.

Well, it is reportedly pretty short so that's at least in your favor ;)

Yes, but a replay is borderline required, so you end up sinking hours into it after all...
