I didn't find it too difficult to use the Cube controller for OoT.  I found it hard to play through OoT again, because I knew the commitment to beat that game again was too long.

But, the Cube Controller and the Virtual Console controller are two very different beasts.  As KDR has stated, you can easily avoid using the Analog stick, and allow mapping of weapons to the shoulder buttons if you like.  Though the analog stick isn't a horrible option.

I think the analog stick should be mapped as well but the buttons should be intended for the primary use. The stick would be helpful for any sequences that use the c-buttons as one input (like the Ocarina playing).

Buttons make better buttons than analogue sticks do.

You're not supposed to use the analog stick for the items.

Well, it's Monday.  What's the word?

Oh, yeah, crap, my Wii is currently in the mail heading to Nintendo of Canada for repairs.  So they'll probably release Super Mario World, Super Metroid and Kirby: Super Star today.  :P

J/K.  Duh.  No way all those would come out on a single day.  But aren't Super Mario World and Super Metroid slated to come out soon, supposedly?  Knowing my luck maybe one of those will be today.

I used to love Vigilante.  (Yes, I owned the TG16 because I refused to go with Sega while waiting for the Snes)

Kind of like a Kung Fu/Double Dragon hybrid.

Anyone recommend any VC games other than games that everyone already has the real copies of (i.e. Mario games etc.)? I'm in the market for something, I'm just not sure what.

Gunstar Heroes! This is a must buy..

Super Mario World? AWESOME! Now all we need is SMB 2 & 3, then I can do my Mario Marathon before playing Galaxy.

I'm holding off on 1-3 until they release All Stars, SMW is a no brainer though.

I have a hard time spending 6 bucks on a pinball game. Convince me. I already have Bonk.

There's Super Mario All-Stars, and later on in the Super NES's life, there was also "Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World".  Of course, that's even more unlikely to come out for the Virtual Console.  (Similarly, I doubt multi-game pack-in Game Paks (like "Super Mario Bros. & Duck Hunt", or "Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt / World Class Track Meet" (Power Pad support also another issue)) will ever show up.)  The thing about Super Mario All-Stars is that it's not only a compilation but a graphical upgrade.  Maybe after the Super Mario Advance games stop selling, they could sell All-Stars, and at a discount to those who bought the NES originals.  That's one more good thing they could do with that purchase history!  (That could also determine the fate of Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, which was the "Super NESsified" version of the three NES Ninja Gaiden games.)

If they don't release All-Stars, ever, then they should rerelease the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 as the NES version of "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels".  But then that may be another can of worms and people might ask for more Japanese games.  But then again people are asking for Japanese games anyway...

As IceCold said, Gunstar Heros is excellent.  Contra III is another great game with similar gameplay.

Castlevania IV is a great game, especially if you've never played it; however, it's nothing like the recent games in the series, so be sure you know what you're getting yourself into before you drop $8 on it.

R-Type (TGX) and R-Type III (SNES) are both really good shooters.  Most people recommend R-Type III over the original if you're only going to get one.

If they do release All Stars after they've released the originals, I'll probably still buy it.  It's a nice graphical and aural upgrade, but the originals will always have a retro, nostalgic appeal to me.
