Agreed, I'm already behind in having all the games I want.  But I guess it's better to have them there when I can afford it then have to wait once I do get caught up on the finances.

Did Kirby's Adventure originally had a way to save your progress? I know you can quick save with NES games. I played the remake on the GBA which saving was a no-brainer. But I also remember that many NES games outside of Zelda didn't have the ability to save data save for long winded nonsensical(sp?) passwords...

I don't know about you guys but I've been impressed with VC lately, there are so many great games I still don't have and am not sure if I can keep up! It would be great if they released more than 3-5 games a week (more like 3 a week), but at the moment I'm 90% satisfied.

So far I have:

Ecco
Ristar
Mario Kart 64
Mario 64
Gunstar Heroes
Super Mario World
Super Mario Bros.
Legend of Zelda
Legend of Zelda: LTTP
Alien Crush
Bonk's Adventure
Bomberman 93

I still need to get Kid Icarus, Contra 3, Bonanza Bros or whatever it is called (sounds like a fun game), Comix Zone, the R-Type games. and Gradius. Crazy, never thought I'd be this backed up on the VC!

Yes.

Kid Icarus makes me cry.  I've actually managed to make it to stage 1-3 this time (never got past the first level before now XD), but having to start the level over from the very beginning every time I die is getting tedius. D:  Why did that mean ol' man throw all those tiles at me? T-T

Kirby's Adventure is the best NES game next to SMB 3, there I said it. Nintendo has made me SO happy. This is one of my 5 MUST have games for VC once they announced it. I encourage everyone to share in my joy. Do yourself a favor and get this 5$ masterpiece. Unless you got GBA nightmare in dreamland. lol.

Ok, you know how when you beat SMB1 you get a harder difficulty level and a level select option? Well is there any way to go back to the regular level once you've beaten it again? Whenever I go back to play it starts me on the "second quest".

Doesn't resetting the game get you back to the Goomba-filled "first quest"?

Have you tried deleting the game's save data from the Wii options menu?

Anyone know when we can start complaining about not getting any good VC releases again? Maybe when new Wii games start coming out again?

That would be my guess, or MAYBE they have run out of all their "pixel" art games.

I don't remember Kung Fu being released.  Or Donkey Kong Jr. Math.  There are probably more.  You'd think they'd have Zapper support for Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley.

Ok, I have a question for all of you. I am now interested in the VC because Kid Icarus was finally released and i have never played teh game, but I keep hearing people calling out for the game.
So lets say I can only afford 5 VC games, which 5 would you recommend for me to download?

BlackNMild:  5 games...from any system or just NES or what?

In the end, it really depends on what you want to download.  Are you looking to revisit classics that you loved and want to play again.

In that case:

Super Mario World, Link to the Past, F-Zero, Kirby and such are all great games.

Are you just trying to play classic games you missed and want a good "education" on missed classic games.  Then that depends on what games you have or haven't played, but probably that list would include:

Gunstar Heroes, Kid Icarus, perhaps Kirby, ect.

If you just want to know the best games I have personally downloaded and think you would enjoy I would include:

Super Mario World
Link to the Past
Super Mario 64
Gunstar Hereos
Super Mario Kart 64

Spak, it's Mario Kart 64, not Super Mario Kart 64.  I think I mentioned this before.

I hope you're not one of those people that confuse Mario Bros. with Super Mario Bros.  Or Metroid with Super Metroid.  Etc.

Mario Kart has to be one of them BlackNMild, as well as Contra, for multiplayer at least.

Do we have any hint at all about Star Fox 64? Has the ESRB rated it yet? It is one of my all time favorite games ever. Single player was so epic, and fun! I had such a blast with multiplayer for so many years, before the Cube came out.

For me the N64 was the multiplayer King. Perfect Dark/Golden Eye, Mario Kart/Diddy Kong racing, Smash Bros,  and Star Fox 64 were all that was needed. The Gamecube's successors and spiritual successors weren't as well recieved, especialy Star Fox!

I have been wanting a go at SF64 again for so long.  Please Nintendo! Give me Star Fox 64!

I don't really care what system they are for, but if I'm gonna pay for them I would prefer games that I have not played before. So I am looking for the Top 3(or 4) games that I have never played before and maybe 1(or 2) classic multiplayer ones that I can show off to friends. All games that I don't personally own.

So far my list consist of
1.) Kid Icarus
2.)
3.)
4.)
5.) Mario Kart 64*
---
In consideration list:
1.) Contra - played it along time ago, never beat it though.

*I don't really remember how good Mario Kart SNES was but I have really fond memories of the 64 version. Especially Block Fort, and the power slide.

edit: What exactly is Gunstar Heroes, I assume its a Genesis game? I only owned a Genesis for 2 weeks along long time ago.

Oh, and which Kirby are you talking about? Kirby Adventure? I haven't acutlly looked the the VC line-up, but saw it mentioned somewhere else.

In response to Caterkiller:
Causing Mechbeth to crash into the munitions factory (or whatever that was) on Planet Macbeth was the high point in Star Fox 64 for the Rumble Pak, in which case I believe that Star Fox 64 will be made available at about the same time a possible Classic Controller Rumble Pak is released.  That clip's got to be there for something, right?

The N64 did have a lot of good multiplayer memories, and there do need to be more games released there.  However my heart is still on Super NES games; most of the major franchises have had their best games there (Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars, The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby: Super Star, etc.).

In response to BlackNMild:
Gunstar Heroes is a Genesis platform shooter (run and gun!) by Treasure.  Like in the vein of Contra, but cartoony, hectic, and extremely challenging.  The characters are wacky and named after colours (the main characters are Red and Blue), and some of the bosses are really neat.  It's just chaotic and crazy.  The GBA game Gunstar Super Heroes is very similar, but the Genesis one is the original.

When does Super Metroid Prime 64 come out?  I really want to play that game again.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

So I got Kid Icarus. I'm not EXACTLY sure why people seemingly love it so much, it's kind of annoying. But I'll give it more play time later.

Of the Metroid game suffixes and prefixes, I'm fairly certain that Super Prime Fusion is something Optimus Prime did with Ultra Magnus in one of these Transformers series...

I didn't play Kid Icarus until later, possibly not until the Super NES days.  I was only familiar with Kid Icarus through the Captain N character, which was not really the best introduction.

I don't feel as much of a sense of nostalgia with Kid Icarus as I do with other Nintendo franchises that I got into in the NES era, and I don't think I ever truly finished it.  It's one of those slightly black sheep franchises to me.  It's been called Metroid's "sister game" but Metroid is big now and if not for Pit's appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you'd think he was dead.

So far, I'm finding Kid Icarus to be all the sadistic cruelty of Metroid, minus the stuff that made Metroid cool.

I'm finding Kirby Adventure to be about as flipping sweet as any retro Kirby game. So that's good.
