You know what I find strange? When the GameCube was Nintendo's main console and selling poorly people said Nintendo should get out of the console market, and focus on game development and portable systems. Now of course that was mindless babble but there were a lot of people spewing this idiocy, even non-video game people like Yahoo editors.

Where are the people telling Sony to stop trying with the PSP? Sure hardware sales aren't bad, neither were the GC's in it's hayday, the problem is lack of quality and sales of software, and the fact that the DS is trouncing it at every turn. But nope, all the hate in the video game world is saved for Nintendo's mistakes, damn the world.

DS FTW!!!

You know I'm going to constantly use that now that I know what it means, I originally thought is some play on the ever-popular WTF!

Here on this forum. Sony has one flop and the PS3 is off to a lousy start. Might be a good idea to cut off one to free up resources to save the other.

I figured the PS2 would hang on better... 3 weeks ago it was 20k, 2 weeks ago 16k, and now this past week its struggling just to make 15k... Sure hope it gets a holiday kick in the pants other wise the _Xbox360_ is going to start out selling it.

On the Nintendo side of things... at least it's not nearly as dismal as the GC sales are. I'd expect those to flatline about the time Wii is released. Speaking of things dropped like a bad habbit, wow, look at those Phat style DS sales... its hanging out with the Xbox and GBA big time. Thank be to heaven for the DSlite, just clobbering everyone and the PSP by 7.7:1...

Last year was just insane with the store shelves just stripped bare and Nintendo apologizing, I sure hope nintendo is braced for impact...

Roughly speaking last week for every other system sold 1 and 47746/80875 DS Lite were sold in Japan... Thats simply great.

Anybody know when that 360 RPG (Blue Dragon?) is supposed to be released? Did it already come out?

I'm really interested to see how Wii does in Japan. All signs point to awesome, but I want to see the actual numbers.

EDIT: Personally I don't believe Sony is going to quit on the PSP anytime soon, but it makes you wonder, what will it take for them to give up? To give up would mean to admit defeat, not to mention to a company they have long made fun of, and dismissed on countless occasions, all the while stealing their ideas.

December 2nd is the Japanese Launch date.

I wonder how the DS and Wii sales go together, and will the charts be filled with nothing but Nintendo. As fanboyish wishing as that may sound it seems very likely it will happen. I'd expect nothing less than 3 Wii games selling more than 50,000 copies.

Edit: numbers may have been a bit too wishful.

I don't think those numbers are too insane. I know they plan on shipping 400,000 units. Zelda, Wario Ware, and another could all do 50,000-100,000. I don't think the Japanese got a pack in game did they?

Yeah, the JP Wii does not come packed with Wii sports or any game.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see weeks with nothing but Nintendo in the top 10 (like that one chart of complete DS pwnage). I know it's a bit early to tell, but so far the PS3 has a horrible software tie-in-ratio just like the PSP, I don't think any PS3 games will be selling anywhere near the big DS titles (at least for the rest of 06 and most of 07)... DS=Wii, PSP=PS3 the they are very similar in more ways than one!

Wii Play comes with a wii remote, but I don't think the game itself is packed with the system.

Thats because there are no PS3 games that have been released that have been hyped up or really anticipated, and the only thing they could think of was a PS2 game. And no PS game is ever hyped more than FF.
