Actually, Sony announced at their press conference that they had "SHIPPED" 17 million.  Still doesn't say how many they actually sold though.  I know I always see a bunch of PSPs on store shelves.

Wow... 7 of the top 8.

Yangus seems to be holding its own for awhile though at least. I still don't see a US release being too likely, but since we're getting Slime Mori Mori for the DS, anything's possible.

I know. Look at that GBA number. Pitiful, absolutely pitiful. At this rate GBA games will be selling like XBox 360 games in a couple of weeks.

Why such a big spike in sales?  Is it because of Golden Week?

French chart May 2 - 8

1 Animal Crossing : Wild World NDS
2 Pro Evolution Soccer 5 - Platinum PS2
3 Metroid Prime Hunters NDS
4 Gran Turismo 4 PS2
5 Eye toy play 3 + camera PS2
6 Splinter Cell : Chaos theory PS2
7 Dragon Quest : L'Odyssée du roi maudit PS2
8 God of War - Platinum PS2
9 Trauma Center : Jouez du scalpel NDS
10 Soul calibur 3 PS2

No PSP or X360 games in the top 20.

Great to see a game like Trauma Center doing well, and ACWW continues to dominate the WORLD.

Nice to see a chart from somewhere other than Japan!  Weird to see Mario posting all these non-sarcastic comments.

GBA's disappearance is basically what I expected.  Mother 3 is like the grand finale, and now Nintendo will let GBA die.  I always thought the third pillar concept was a way to back out if the DS concept failed...Nintendo could always fall back on good 'ol Game Boy.  Instead, the system is huge so Nintendo is letting the Game Boy die.  Was there a single new first-party game for it announced at E3?

Reminds me of the final days of the NES...third parties will keep supporting it for a while, but for Nintendo it's done.  Kind of makes my eyes mist up... MEEEEEEEMORIIEEEEEES.....

So, how is this thing doing in the states? Been a while since I saw some DSvPSP sales for the last bastion of irrational consumerism.

Wasn't the final NES game first party? I think it was Wario's Woods

Hmm, you're right joedick.  I do faintly remember that game's release, but (in my rather poor memory) I think the last year or so of the NES' new releases were dominated by third parties.  I remember Kirby and Wario's Woods...was there anything else?

DS Lite shortages continue...

It would be hilarious if Xbox 360 sales rise next week after the PS3 screwup.

Looks like XBOX360 is winning the console wars in Japan

Some forum users in Australia are reporting that used DS-Lites were selling for more than used XBOX360's during Goldenweek clearence sales.

I'm a little confused.  Here's why. Magicbox is reporting that Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing WW has sold a total of 3 million copies worldwide.  Now correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't it sold over 2.6 million alone in Japan?  Does this mean that in the 6+ months the game has been out in the US and Europe, it has only sold 400,000 combined between the two markets?

Please someone tell me that is a type and it's supposed to be closer to 5 million sold.

Not a typo... that's how insanely different the game markets are. The game is going to have decent legs though, and it only just came out in Europe a month or two ago, and is still at the top of most European charts.
