Animal Crossing is a monster...it'll be at a million in no time.  Speaking of a million, brain training is almost there!

They should go with something kind of funny.  Like where a dad is trying to change the channel with the controller and can't get it to work and then he accidently turns on the Rev and the next thing you see is him playing SMB with the controller on it's side, and then it cuts to him playing something new like MP3.  Then it says, "It won't change the channel, but it will change the way you play games."

And/or something with older people playing old games and then it cuts to them playing new games and it says, "fall in love again."

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Pikmin Ds?
« on: December 12, 2005, 09:59:32 AM »
They could make a fun little pikmin spin-off, like a platformer where you're a pikmin that doesn't get found by olimer and you have to survive the world and something something...I don't know, I don't really have ideas for a story, but I feel like it could be fun to play as an individual pikmin.  There could be puzzles based around finding those flower things that change your color, where you have to change to yellow to jump higher or use a bomb, etc.

Fishing is a lot easier if you have your sound turned up because you hear a little plunk when the bobber goes under all the way.  So just cast it out there and right when you hear the plunk hit the button (I say hit the button because it seems easier to fish with the d-pad than the stylus...especially since with the stylus you may accidently run and then scare fish away).

Target has a price break to 19.99 on Gunstar Super Heroes until the 19th of December.  At least the one by me does...so I assume it's Nationally.

That was a patent for the DK bongos...you're just crazy.  You're not going to find anything interesting in patents ever, the patents get published months, sometimes years after the product has been shown publicly.

Does anyone remember off hand what the US DS vs PSP numbers are again...I know it's approximate, and it get's asked about every other page.

Does anyone at least maybe remember what page the latest ones were on?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Rare working on 2 DS games
« on: December 02, 2005, 10:56:50 PM »
I'll agree for the most part with the "slump" theory...but I think it's moreso that there was a lot of moving and shaking in the company (people leaving) and some of the newer staff members had to take over for the most part.  It seems by the supposed quality of their 360 games that Rare still has it's share of talent, but maybe they're still a little fresh-faced.

Art pretends to objectivity in the most subjective possible arena of human life. When I use the word artist I'm just referring to the people responsible for the visual look of the game

Oh, I get it, you're from a red-state.

Want to hear an opinion that is even less popular than one that bashes WW?  I thought that OoT was too long and that WW was overall a better more enjoyable experience. (OoT still rocks, you don't have to castrate me)

I strongly agree with Nemo that GameInformer is utter crap.  EGM is alright, I still subscribe to it, but it seems to be slowly losing what trust I still had in it.

1up is crap though, not only do they update half as much as normal web-sites, they have release dates that are off by months and never get fixed, half of their content is stolen straight from the magazine, and one time I tried to leave a comment at the bottom of an article like they let people do and they didn't post it because I said something about how it was "convienient" for them to make an article that was nothing more than an advertisement for people to buy their Playstaytion magazine.  What boobs they be.

It would be awesome if you could use a wavebird as a controller for DS games!

We need some elite hackers to get on that now.

I'm in the same boat as you guys in that this is the most games I've ever bought for a system within a year...I have 11 (12 if you count first hunt) and I'll probably have a few more after Christmas.

I loves me my DS.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:My Revolution Conspiracy Theory
« on: November 24, 2005, 12:53:48 AM »
On a scale of rediculousness this theory takes the cake.  Nintendo cuts corners, but it doesn't deliver a shotty product that is nothing more than something you already own but more expensive.

I'm 100% sure that if Nintendo wanted to make a machine that was more powerful than xbox360 and PS3 they could.  I'm 100% sure that if Nintendo wanted to make a machine that was almost as powerful as the competition and was capable of very similar graphics (think GC in this generation) for a lower price point they could.  Either one of those situations would not help Nintendo.  They would be faced with equal machines with bigger marketing budgets, better word of mouth, and more third party support.  The only thing Nintendo has over the competition in this situation is it's fantastic first party games.

If Nintendo chooses innovation they give themselves more seperation from the competition, plus they don't have to build as powerful of a machine simply for bragging rights.  Now Nintendo has a cheaper product that will deliver something that neither of the other machines can, on top of the fantastic first party games.  Add in the fact that the video game industry is in need for a kick in the pants, and Nintendo realizes that they are just the company to put on their kicking boots.

Complain all you want about the Revolution not being as powerful as the competition, but it's an intelligent move.  It's a risky move, but an intelligent one.

I'm sure they don't have any other really exciting things they're keeping from us.  At most I'd say they have some fancy new thing inside the Rev (like a stripped down PPU or something).

It will be at all the major chains here on Wednesday, but if you pre-ordered it you can probably get it on Tuesday because game stores will actually give out the games right when they get them rather than the next day.  This is the reason I'm going to pre-order it tomarrow...even though that seems rediculous, as long as they haven't filled all of the pre-orders it should allow me to get my game earlier.  Game stores can be b!tches about selling you a game on launch day if you didn't pre-order it.
