New Super Mario Bros.

We’re suckers for nostalgia, that’s for sure. When it was announced a year ago, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on Mario’s latest side-scrolling adventure. The year was worth the wait. Mario’s new game takes everything we’ve loved about the classic gameplay and multiplies it by two. The game moves between both screens (underground portions are played on the lower screen) and adds an awesome two-player race mode to the mix. Whenever the game comes out, you can be sure we’ll be all over it.

"While Sonic tore up the GBA, Mario rested in his suspenders and drank port. Thank God Nintendo ran out of good Mario games to rehash, because New Super Mario Bros. fuses old and new to make something for all ages." - Michael "TYP" Cole

"Handheld Mario games have been nothing but remakes for far too long." - Daniel Bloodworth

"I'm more excited by what this game could be than by what it was at E3, although the demo at the show was definitely fun in and of itself." - Jonathan Metts

"A perfect combination of old school and new school gaming. It looks like New Super Mario Bros. is going to make up for all of those SNES Mario ports that we've had to endure for the last few years." - Jonathan Lindemann

"Super Mario Bros. was obviously a system seller on the NES. Will New Super Mario Bros. have the same effect on the DS? One can only hope, but in either case, it still looks like a phenomenal game that any Nintendo enthusiast will enjoy." - Karl Castaneda
