Be mindful of where you create an ID.
When Nintendo outlined its Wii U account system earlier this month, we learned you can create up to 12 unique IDs per system.
With the launch of the console today, though, multiple users report that once a Nintendo Network ID is activated, it is tied to that specific system, and can't be used on another. Attempting to do so brings up a warning that the respective ID "has already been linked to another Wii U console."

We've been gone for a while, but we're back this Tuesday with a bang!
After a long hiatus, Nintendo World Report's Community Night returns this Tuesday, November 20, for a special Wii U launch event. Nintendo's new console launches with several online multiplayer titles, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassin's Creed III, and FIFA Soccer and Madden NFL 13, and if you own any combination of those come and add people from out community as Miiverse friends and play some games!

Nintendo is taking a hands-off approach toward eShop prices.
Nintendo is allowing publishers to control the prices, and sales, of Wii U eShop content.
In an IGN interview with Frozenbyte, developer of Trine 2, marketing manager Mikael Haveri said that "[the model is] very close to what Steam and Apple are doing right now, and very indie friendly."

They said it'd be here on launch day, and they were right!
A system update has been released for Wii U on the evening before launch day.
The system update should include many of the touted features for Wii U, including the ability to play Wii games on the console, and transfer games and save files from Wii.
This update does not include Nintendo TVii, which will be included in a system update in December.

Nintendo TVii may not make launch, but Netflix will.
Netflix will have an app available for Wii U on launch day, despite Nintendo TVii seeing a delay to December.
Other video services, like Hulu Plus and Amazon Instant Video, will be delayed along with Nintendo TVii to December, but a Netflix representative confirmed to Engadget that Netflix would be available "when Wii U ships," but would not be a part of the Nintendo TVii service until Q1 2013.

Fans of watching stuff on the Wii U will have to wait a few weeks for TVii, Netflix, and more.
Nintendo TVii, previously touted as a launch day feature, isn't
coming until December, according to a recent Nintendo press release.
At a non-specific December date, Nintendo will activate Nintendo
TVii, the service that will "transform how people find, watch and engage
with TV shows, movies and sports." Additionally, streaming services
such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, and YouTube won't be
out at launch.

If you thought the launch lineup was stacked, wait until you see what you can download.
On day one of the Wii U's launch, Little Inferno, Trine 2: Director's Cut, Chasing Aurora, Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition, and Nano Assault NEO will all be available for purchase from the eShop.
Among those titles, the eShop will also be offering for download a selection of Wii U retail titles, although Nintendo did not specify which games would be available.

The new app, which debuted earlier today, can be downloaded on the Wii Shop Channel for free, and has been heavily optimized for Wii Remote use.

Yusuke Kozaki, artist of both No More Heroes and Fire Emblem: Awakening, has announced an art book for Fire Emblem: Awakening via his Twitter. The book will be coming to Japanese stores on December 7 and will be priced at 3,990 yen ($50).

More fun from the creator of Cave Story.
Guxt, the vertical shoot-'em-up from Daisuke Amaya, best known as the creator of Cave Story, will release on the 3DS eShop.
Originally released as freeware in 2007, the retro-styled shooter is now being published by Nicalis, as confirmed today on their Twitter account.
In the 3DS version, players can hold the 3DS sideways in order to maintain the game's original, vertical aspect ratio.

Until then, the GamePad is no use for Virtual Console titles.
The Wii U will be receiving its own Virtual Console service in the future, Nintendo's Satoru Iwata confirmed. Until its arrival, however, players cannot expect to be playing Wii and Wii Virtual Console titles on the Wii U GamePad.

Toki Tori 2 has been scheduled for release on December 20, developer Two Tribes has revealed.
While the studio aimed to launch the game alongside the Wii U, Two Tribes decided to delay the title "to make sure the game lives up to our standards."
Tori 2 places you once again in the feathered feet of titular hero Toki Tori. Players take advantage of the environment and its inhabitants to get Toki Tori where he needs to go.
